Thanks for the tip! I'm just trying out an X.06 that has an incredible eyeport and generally liking it quite well.

Revzilla has a release date on this helmet for Mid-May. It seems pretty bad ass as far as features. I have a Nexx X30 Viper, a Icon Variant, a Arai XD-4 in my collection. I'm looking forward to the Givi as more of an around town kind of helmet.

    Features:
    Removable peak visor.
    Pinlock shield
    Removable Chin guard
    sun visor

    I hope it's decent...

    Here's a link to Revzilla's page:

If anyone gets this helmet, a review would be appreciated. I'm especially interested in the venting and whether there's space for helmet speakers. Thanks.

I posed questions on Revzilla about these two issues and was told that, yes, there's room for helmet speakers inside and yes, the top vents can be closed.

As they're still not available here in the US yet, any reviews from overseas would be appreciated.

The Canadian distributor for Givi says these helmets will NOT be available in North America. Even in provinces that only require the ECE standard, no DOT.

I'm also watching this helmet. The availability date used to be May 16th, now it says "Summer".
It would be the first enduro style helmet of a decent quality with a build-in sun shade. Right now the only choices are BiLT Explorer and AFX-FX39. I have the AFX and would like to replace it with a better helmet.

I've put my email into revzilla's system to be notified when the helmet becomes available so we'll see. I'll let you know if I ever hear from them.

I watched the Revzilla video. My biggest takeaway was its a Round Head helmet. I stopped listening...

That's surprising given your avatar pic :rofl
Seriously, that's why I'm interested. I've got an Arai Quantum 2 round head.

I just bought one from Revzilla. May be a defective early model but there are NO vent passages in mine. I expected this to be very airy. See my review at Revzilla. I haven't heard from Givi yet. It fit my mellon head so I begrudgingly modded the snot out of it.

Sounds to me like you got the XO1 and not the XO1D Touring helmet. And perhaps you've not swapped out the winter for summer vents on top? I got the Touring helmet at MOA last month and it's got lots of vents!

Nope, got the dual sport touring model. and it has the closeable vents on top and side/rear exhaust vents at back. however there were NO passages through the foam shell under any of the "vents". This can be easily confirmed by either removing the vent covers (one screw for the top, the rear pops off very easily with finger pressure) or by removing the inside liner to reveal, on mine at least, a solid foam scull cap with no holes or passages of ANY sort. I am assuming the foam was changed to make a DOT version and hopefully I got some early version. It also doesn't have pinlock studs on the visor. If yours is a DOT version I would love to know what you find on inspection. Neither Givi or Revzilla have answered my emails (several) but Revzilla DID print my review.

PS kindofblue I would def love your input on this. I already modded my helmet as I liked every thing else about it. I'm perturbed that Givi hasn't responded and it's crazy when I go on their Givi chat line they immediately go offline! I started out nice!? Guess they don't want to know. Would love to know if they are all the same.

I didn't read all the replies to the original post, shame on me. That is sweet looking helmet and looks some like my Shark Evoline 2.

I just looked and both of my Givi helmets have the same inner lining. There is a black mesh material that lets the air flow through, if I hold the helmet up to the light and look inside I can see the light source shine through.

Thanks for response, Irish. I suspected Euro versions would be OK because I could see the difference in review videos with the vent covers off. I would have sent mine back (VERY hot) but I liked the other features and the fit enough to carve some vents myself. Now I'm a little testy about the lack of response. I need to just go ride and not dwell on this, I guess. I'm a stubborn man with too much time on his hands.
