Ok, so I'm looking for that part that does everything, costs nothing, and weighs even less.

What rear racks for the 950/990 adventure can accept Givi monokey hardware? I'm definitely not interested in a plate-on-adapter-on-rack setup. Just a good solid rack with the monokey hardware.

I emailed Motooverland, and I guess they don't make the MOD rack anymore. The SW Motech one I ordered is tiny, and useless as a rack without the topbox installed. I was looking at the CJ designs and the BDCW large multifunction racks. Do either of these accept the givi hardware?

Funny you bring this up as I was just looking at an Altrider Al rack for my Multi 1200 and noticed for $17.85 they make a Givi adapter kit to fit their rack. See link. Seems if you have a flat luggage plate already and the required spacing to drill holes for this simple kit it could work.

They do not produce a rack for the 950/990 but I have a Touratech on my 950 S that this may work on.

I have an equivalent set of hardware from SW Motech. The rack from SWM has holes already drilled, but is pretty small. It would probably be great for a tail bag, but I'm looking for something that would support a duffel or drybag.

I can't add the hardware to the existing touratech rack, because 1) it is too short front to rear, and 2) the location for the forward givi mounts in right in the middle of the lightening holes.

Check out the Black Dog racks for the 950. They may have the length you need to install the fittings for the Givi.

That's what I'm wondering. The size is certainly there. I'm just wondering if there's metal in the right places. I haven't been able to get in touch with Black Dog, or CJD.

I modified a Givi rack made for a FJR to fit my SM. It already had the Givi mounts, I just drilled holes to match the KTM rack mounts.

fantastic! you have been good to fit!
the only problem is that there may be the proximity of the trunk to the saddle

edit: but under the attacks givi you put something? of thickness?

I think he just wanted to show the part that was cut off from the original FJR rack..

Checco, that rack that you have for sale... can if be modified a bit? I like the idea and the way it was done i just want the topcase a bit closer to the saddle, seems a bit far back. Mind if i PM you ?
