Ron Caroll is already signed up with a Mustang team outta Cali. He was our lead on the 05 last year in Grand-Am. We're gonna need a fly-in guy for car chief on the second car.

well ? do i stick around seabring for the 12 hour race after the vscda stuff?
Blog is up, but I know how fickle we can all be, so here's the rundown on ADV.
Motors are off to the engine builder. Certian people know how to extract just the last little bit of power without bending the rulebook tooooo hard.
Chassis #002 (05 car) is out of paint with a fresh interior squirting. Time to start re-assembly
Starting to install the brains of the car, the power/electronics panel. What you are looking at is a Bosch 4.3 ECU and our Motec Power Distribution Module. This fully programmable solid state power unit eliminated ALL relays/fuses from the car. Talk about reliable…
Here's me fabbing new Polycarbonate windows.
GM was kind enough to send us the Solidworks file for the front of the car, using that and Jordon's massive brain we've designed and ordered our new bolt-on CarbonFiber Splitter.
You'll also see some fun shit on my Facebook page, cuz that's where I like to brag about how cool I am.
Beat up on Rehagen for me!
uh, can you tell I've been putting in a few hrs?
Five of us put in 16 hours yesterday and are back at 8:00 this morning. Splitters are fitted, wing supports mounted, cars stickered, third gps tracker installed, RaceKeeper (mandatory) video system wired, cars have been on the dyno, and lots of other misc odds and ends taken care of.
Still have to finalize splitter and wing adjusters, swap the seat in the 06, check; double-check; and re-check everything, clean-up, load trailer, install some new tiedowns in the trailer,....
Oh, and the new tires mean new setup, which means dropping the ride height, which means we were already pretty close to the bottom of our shock travel as is.
So, LOTS of tuning tomorrow and Sunday during testing, and lots more thurs-sat in Florida.
Ugh. Dats racin
so where is my plane ticket?
Or do you expect me to ride down?
Testing went well. A couple shock changes, and some wing tuning, but mainly just cranking out laps. Cars have about 5 hrs of track time now and all is well.
Jon and I pull out at noon today. Next update will be from Florida
checking in from st. Pete.
05 found a wall in the first session. Missed second session for repairs.
06 went well, (my car) rolled outta qualifying in P3. Breezed through tech, and sittin pretty for the 11 am start. Way to wheel Alec Udell. Not bad for a 15yo.
WC pitted us next to Pratt&Miller with their brand new CTS-V.R's. We all have a severe case of penis envy. EVERYTHING is spotless and perfect and brand new. But we've made friends.
So far so good. We've made a lot of fans and turned a few heads with the first effort in WC. More tomorrow
05 finished 10th smooth and steady
06 the line lock stuck on, wound up back with the TC class and was haulin ass back up thru the field when about lap 10 a VW tc car decided to pick a fight with our 450hp Camaro, that's in GTS. Weak.
Alec was up with a couple Mustangs and dispatched the pair handily. However, setting himself up to pass a couple TC cars ( and just having set the fifth fastest lap of the race) he barely clipped a wall thru the chicane, a half a lap later the LF strut failed and sent the car into a spin and into the opposing wall with the left front corner.
Took our time as race 2 is not until 5pm, and got it patched back together. Rf shock, two wheels, bumper, little tweaking to the lf frame horn, bar, lf tie rods, headlight, splitter, and left fender mainly. I went to Alec in the paddock and waited for a tow back to the truck that never came. Weak. Good crowd tho, and we made a lot of fans. Being pitted next to Pratt & Miller has its advantages for crowd exposure.
Back at the hotel, sittin at the pool, needin a beer. More tomorrow.
Www.world-challenge.com there's a link for the live stream, and will be shown on VERSUS channel next weekend I'm told.
