Any gas in Gold Point or do we need to be self sufficient? The 3 gallons on the Husky TE610 even with a 1 gallon Rotopax don't go all that far.

Herb or Walt will usually have gas available since they know there is a group coming. Give Herb a call or email to confirm.

Herb confirmed in July that they will have a 2K gal tank on-site. Current price (at that time) was $5/gal.

Looking forward to it. Will have my new 2014 KTM 500 EXC with a 5.3 tank.
If anyone needs gas, I can bring a extra 5 gallons up from Vegas.

PS, don't park near a big white truck with multi lights on the front. :huh

Sitting here with a gin & tonic waiting for the dog to take a dump going over today's dual sport ride with shooby and jeepbandit-shooby, you get any pics of those big ass rocks at the top of that trail today? I felt like I was the mars rover or something! Lot of pings and jolts going through that.

The Strom has a few new small scars on the undercarriage today but no permanent damage. I had a few reservations about adding more weight & expense to my bike with yet another aftermarket part , but no more. Ordering the skidplate asap! Today I was somewhat close to home, but Gold Point ain't exactly next door to San Diego. Would hate to have an easily preventable knock ruin the trip for me.

Looking forward to seeing you guys out there.

I add too much weight to my bike when I get on it...I am going to cut 15lbs off the bike by gold point and that is the tire around my waist...

I was being lazy and work has been nuts for the last two months straight. Really full on, weekends too.

Did the research today, going with the one jeepbandit recommended and made by a fellow forum member "narcosisjunky". Seems to be a great value.

    EDIT:

Just ordered it, with highway pegs and a switch guard for the kickstand. I noticed the wire got scarred up a bit this weekend.

That's a lotta mods all at once! Nothing like a deadline to help you get stuff done. Looking forward to seeing the bike.

Liking your farkles Shooby, might of come in handy last weekend, eh?!

I just got the Enduro Guardian skidplate in the mail today. Thing is not f-ing around. Like a slab of a WW1 tank. Thanks for the recommendation Jeepbandit.
