I guess you can't see all the scratches on my watches.

The Submariner I'm wearing right now has a band held together with welding rod and a couple of clipped paper clips.

i took the band off of mine to run the s/n just now and both of the pins are bent so bad that almost could not get it back together.

but i have lots of welding rod so i was not worried.:evil

Yep. The Omega (pictured above) had the misfortune of having its bracelet snap into about eight pieces while I was driving one day.

Never had that problem with a Rolex bracelet. The pins will wiggle out from time to time, but you just push them back in or find another pin that will fit. The links are, after all, solid and not hollow.

Take that thing into a jeweler for a cleaning and polishing. For a few $20 bills it will look almost like new. My Rolex is a 1964 from before they used Sapphire crystals so I have to bring it in every few months to get the crystal polished. It's looks like new when I pick it up.

I really wouldnt mind having a nice TAG , Rolex, or Breitling, theyre awesome watches... but I just cant bring myself to spend more than about $600 on anything Im that likely to destroy...
I think my next watch will be a Seiko Kinetic....

I get the scratches off with Maguiar's "Scratch X" paste. Got it at Walmart. Works wonders on my vintage Rolex crystals.
