Sweet! Who is the maker? Looks kind of like an Alan Davis but he usually puts his name on the blade.

Another lefty with the mini Griptillian. I do prefer the older round hole version to the newer oval hole version though...

Good eye - it is Alan Davis. You can see his name on the blade in the second to last pic I believe, but it is hard to see.

Cool. I've been keeping my eye out for one of his. I am curious how the alabama damascus performs. You are going to EDC this one?

It will definitely be in the rotation. Will report back after some use.

Beautiful knife, but pricey no doubt. I have a couple of nice knives, but I'm afraid to lose them or scratch them so I don't carry them.

Makes no sense, not even to me. :D

Do any of you knife knuts have the Great Eastern #6 Pemberton yet? Its a little Coke bottle slipjoint about the size of a Case Peanut. That's the one I want next.

I have the non serrated one. Bought it after I lost the T1. Like it a lot. Used to carry a small Kershaw. The sog holds an edge better. Nice enough to feel good in your hand, but inexpensive enough that you won't be afraid to use it.

    Strat,
I don't really think many knives are beautiful but your new Davis really is!!

    Great blade shape.

    Nice knife.

Do you know the scales material?

Thanks! As soon as I saw the pics I knew I had to have it. The scales are apparently "mammoth ivory".

You don't have to put quotes around it. That is exactly what it would be: from the tusks of an ancient, woolly elephant. Specifically here you have second cut ivory meaning an inner layer. The outer layers are referred to as "bark" and are usually very colourful (yellow, browns and green). The nice thing with ancient ivory is it tends to be stable.

Do you have any problems with the Twitch II opening in your pocket if it's not locked?

Took these photos a long time back with my Ricoh RDC5000:

That is an Emerson Knives "Commander" that was customized by Frank Recupero with desert ironwood scales and ivory inlaid backspacer and extensive filework to both blade and liners. The top image is closer to the actual colour.

FYI, $10 off $50 of Kershaw knives on Amazon right now, good time to get a solid mid-level blade or two. I carry a Blur daily and love it, not intrusive and sharp as shit from the factory. Tempted to buy a pair of Cryo's for stashing in the vehicles but I picked up a factory 2nd Ontario RD9 for $63 tonight so the knife budget is temporarily tapped. Looking forward to putting some wear on the big chopper.
