Don't see why not, John! Might need a bigger tank on that WR for the White Rim though!
I've got a KLR for that kind of adventure riding. Love exploring the back roads and hidden places.
Turning into an epic adventure!! In my book all inmates are welcome!!
At least, not today. I barely have the 990 broken in! Sure would like to flog one for an afternoon, though.
+1 to Onion Creek and the rides Unaweep mentioned. Top of the World is doable on a KLR, but is a challenge.
Anybody know how much snow, if any is out in Rabbit Valley/Westwater area? I was thinking of riding out there on new years day.
Usually the local BLM office goes out there to check on their stuff regularly. Might want to call them and then let us know.
Haven't been out to RV or beyond recently, but I was out shooting in the Fruita desert the day before yesterday... there was still about 4" of snow and it's very crusty. I don't think it's going anywhere before New Years day and I don't think there will be any changes between now & then.
Took a drive out there this afternoon. Your suspicions are confirmed!
About 4" of crusty snow.
That sucks. Know any other good places to ride over there that doesn't have any snow? Need to get out and do some riding.
I'm headed to St George in a couple weeks.
St George is fun, been there a couple times. I might be game for something like that. Keep me posted if you want company. I'm headed to Wickenburg in February for my annual winter beating. Just need somewhere to ride between now and then.
Delta area looks good and bared off. Sure there is snow in the shade but its been hitting the mid 30's to low 40's should be decent especially morning before the mud comes out.
How about Peach Valley area, much snow left there?
Was in Durango today. Bare ground down there. Should be good riding around Farmington.
yep, still snowed in.
Hey guys -
Just wanted to encourage y'all to dust the snow off and come riding in SE Arizona in March (20-23) for our 5th year of Dual Sport Desert Daze.
Official ADV thread is here for more info:
New advrider here, living in Fruita. Bought a DR650 this past fall. Been doing the standard mods in the freezing weather (really wish I had a garage!) Looking forward to riding weather and exploring around. This forum has been very helpful and informative. Thanks for putting the effort into reports and reviews.
Welcome! Glad you found the GJ area thread on here, too! The DR650 is a great bike for around here, there is plenty of incredible riding to suite that bike. What kind of mods have you been working on?
Once it warms up again, you'll have to get out riding with us & some other local ADV'ers. I'm sure this thread will become a bit more active in a couple months as we start planning rides.
