Pic of my grandson's recently acquired '83 VF750F. We cleaned up, tuned it up, installed a new set of tires, runs and rides great.

    Had a VF700F...loved that thing.

Check the rectifier...these bikes eat them. Also, you may need to check the cam oiling.

A real sweet bike. I'd like to have one of these myself.

Pretty sweet ride aside from the noodle frame and funky tire sizes. We have an 85 in the garage with a CBR 600 F3 shock to replace the air shock. Still a lot of fun! That one looks clean!

That's a very clean looking VF.

Here are the two I bought non running and fixed up last year. Both 83s, 13 serial numbers apart:

The first one was a 9.9/10. Just about perfect. The second was a solid 7.5. I sold them both, probably should have kept the minty one.

A fun trip down memory lane, but I found out it was a rose colored glasses thing ;) Still fun bikes though.

As said above, check the cam oiling.

Always had the hots for those back in the day! Interceptors, I mean....

"Zero to 50 faster than you can read this
" ad campaign got my attention and was the centerpiece of my postered wall collage; couldn't tell you what else was on that 1983 apartment wall because everything else paled in comparison....

Freddie Spencer was magic on the track. I still recall the race commentator pointing out the writhing frame, noting the engine was soooo powerful out of turns, the whole chassis flexed in agony -- visible even on the non-Hi-Def programming of the day.

    Epic.

I wish Honda were stirring the motorcycle world now the way they did with those bikes. Now they're largely yawners.
