When I mentioned this page to the KLR list (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DSN_klr650), Bill Pratt on the list sent me this great ride report.

    http://www.billpratt.com/asia/content.htm

It is not finished yet, but is a great story of 7 friends riding from Beijing to Kathmandu. 5 KLR650s and 2 Honda 400 TransAlps trekked across roughly 3000 miles of greatly varying terrain. Fun read from start to finish. The author includes everything from a packing list, to descriptions and photos on how they repaired a KLR that was hit by a truck.

I only have 2 main complaints about this ride report:
    1) It is not finished! Get to it Bill! We want to read more!

    2) It has put the fire of adventure back into my veins. Now I am going to be pining away for a trip through China. However, as the report points out, due to visas and permissions from the government this is not exactly a trip just anyone can do. I suppose I will just have to be happy waiting for the next section to be written.
