Well we did a couple of hours and mapped from Swan lake back into Portland.

The quick way was straight up Telegraph road on the way out with a diversion to the top of Mt Richmond. we saw a lot of 4WD about to play in the sand dunes

The pretty way back was limited by a lot of water that made some tracks unsuitable for bigger bikes, so we took a few detours and tried to avoid the worst of it.

I managed to do a belly flopper while going though a puddle! Did I mention that it rained again today. No more dust!

Anyway I have posted the section onto www.transaustraliatrail.com.au as Swat C2.

Gags can you send me the plot of your Nelson to Swan lake ride so I can upload that to TAUT. if you are not sure how to do it, can you bring you GPS tomorrow.

My leg is a little sore after being in the Sidis, but not too bad really.

We will have to wait until late December I think to do a C3, really X-country option back into Portland.

DRDAve plans to go to Mt Gambier via the Pine Forest roads seeking some sand to play in to get experience. Is anyone interested?

What about Saturday? We could do a Portland to Nelson, Dartmoor, Portland triangle ride.

Much of the Cobboboonee is under water so I reckon it will be major roads through there ( dodging black exocets).

Sadly I'm out.....we have decided to rent out our old house, seeing as nobody is buying, so we have a few things to do before tenant moves in next week......I will be in Heywood if a rescue is needed :evil

That is a pity. Those swamps would suit your trencher digger!

I like the sound of that "young fella"!

Taking the safari tank off to de- water the bike is not attractive. The access for the DRZ tank screws sucks.

Then put the original back on, a fair bit easier to ride with too.
Though if you have a decent airspace in the top of the safari it acts as a floatation device, eh, eh young fella!:evil

That is what happens when you fail to attack and obstacle, fearing that you might fall off and hurt your leg. Old age is a bugger.
