I haven't competed at the hill climb for a long time. It is a fun event.
I was hoping to but I work away and had to go to Melbourne that day. I have an old IT250E that I would like to have a go at the hill with.
What a great ride along the Wimmera River!
Thanks for the company Wal, Brian and Sam.
On the way home yesterday I got blown off the road near Coleraine. The wonders of 4 seasons in a day!
I stopped for a numb bum relief at Tahara . Good view of the Grampians.
Great riding, weather was good and the team was a happy bunch, nothing else to ask for.The western part of the state has so much to offer as far as riding is concerned.
I have started a RR at http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/exploring-the-wimmera-river.1294385/#post-34783072.
Feel free to add to it. I need a drink!
Finished the RR. Waiting for flak from BRR (now with BGB added to his title)!!
Flak added in your RR.
Gps track for you Kym
Have you uploaded it to Taut yet?
no but how about i send it to you for uploading.
Good idea. Can you add that map to the RR please?
I have to work today! Just as I was getting used to this man of leisure thing.
Looked like a good ride blokes , was driving into Horsham Bunnings & noticed a young fella from a distance at the last minute, checked the bike out when leaving & knew it was James Cook's DR250 .
Yes, awesome riding in this western area, I ride the McKenzie river track as its not far from home and all the surrounding back roads of the Grampians area.
Good to see you young blokes are still out riding your bicycles .
There we have it. Slow can organize the next ride along McKenzie river; perhaps camp at Tori's place again??? Motion carried.
Sorry I missed you Slow,it has been a while.
For anyone who has not done the McKenzie River it is a great ride, now would be a good time to do it before it rains.
Larry and I did the ride a few years back, one of the rewarding rides we did (must give him a call to see how things are going).
Larry reported slow progress last time he posted, but he was back on a pushie at last.
Good to see ya still sneakin around the GTR occasionally Mick, ridin' the buckshot still?
Us "young fellas" are not so young, not so fit, but why should that stop us? Hell, theres a world out there to leave wheel tracks across
Buck shot = Steering dampener dialed to 8 . Was out today riding & exploring the Grampians, some of the long back roads within the park have washed out & degraded over summer that they are single lane marble / ball bearing highways
I took three young bucks to The Pyrenees for their first hill experience this weekend. Day one was an easy ride with a bit of hills. Day two a short but rutted out ( thanks to 4WD and water) put two of them down. One broken radiator and a blinker. Arvo ride was supposed to be an easier ride around to Landsborough and back over the ridge track. My memory is a bit hazy. The ascent up to the top of the ridge was steep, rough and long. Luckily the newbie on the DRZis a 105 Kg bloke and he muscled it up there just fine. They were too sore to get out of bed this morning, so we packed up and went home. Kids these days!!!
They wan to to try the Grampians next. Calling Tori: camp weekend please whenever you want, cause I am retired-ish as of Thursday.
So I'm pretty choofed then that the Messiah and I did Landsborough ridge back the week after easter when it was shredded by 4wd's And we didn't go home next day either...Kids these days eh!!!
