Doing some maint on my '05 1200GS and I noticed that one of the u joints on the drive shaft is starting to go. I know a new drive shaft is an option (at almost $700). I contacted Bruno's in Canada and got an estimate of about $400 (both U joints and two way freight). Does anybody out there know of someone in US that does the same level of work, hopefully at a competitive price.

Heard there was a shop in California that does them, damned if I can remember the name right now. Maybe somebody else will remember it.

You won't be disappointed with Bruno's fix, He rebuilt the shaft on my '95 R1100GS. He used quality parts and added zerk fittings that you install to lube it, remove and plug hole to ride it. I never had any more problems with it. My thought was, if I buy a new shaft from BMW it is going to fail also, at least Bruno addresses that problem. He modifies it to be how the factory should have done it originally. Good Luck.
