can you tell from the vin?
looking at a bike that the fellow claims is a GSA
From http://www.bmwarchiv.de/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html it appears to be a standard GS.
I take that back. They referred to my GSA as a "GS".

Motor: 2-ZYL - 1,10l (62kW)
Außenfarbe: GRAPHITAN-MATT MET.
....as it has:
yellow standard GS tank
Graphitan beak with NO extender
silver wheels and cylinder heads
standard GS tailpiece
Standard... The GSA has purple-ish wheels, valve covers, factory crash bars with BMW fog lights, purple-ish frt forks, non chrome center shock and a big-ass gas tank
if it is an Adventure, someone went to great pains to remove all the ADV stuff and make it into a standard.
07/2003 R21 R 1150 GS 00 (0415,0495) USA
So GS, not GSA.

I am no expert, but the fuel tank looks just like the one on my 2000 GS. Right down to the decals. May want to be careful this bike may have been pieced together or repaired.
seat and rear subframe are GS also.
Looks like it has GSA fork tubes?
Rear fender is grey like the front fender, gas tank is yellow.
Probably was a grey bike and had the gas tank changed for some reason.
Still looks clean but too expensive
< 52k miles is low miles? Not as advertised (not GSA). Seems overpriced (to me) for either GS or GSA.
But yes, it looks clean!
This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available:huh
I know it no longer matters, but the term GSA actually refers to GS with ABS. A GS Adventure may or may not be a GSA, depending on if it has ABS or not.
Jim, I understand, but I think people know when I was saying GSA, I was saying R1150 Gelände/Straße Adventure.
If you did not, my most sincere apologies.
The advert did say R1150 GS Adventure.
No problem, I wasn't confused. I was just saying that the term is often improperly used, and that BMW uses the term GSA to mean GS with ABS. This sometimes confuses people when placing an add. I didn't see the add.
