Almost all of the Sequin Trail is open to motorcycles. The Wolf BMW Dualsport Ride at the '05 Parry Sound Rally (lead by Bob Bergman of Dakar fame) used it as far as Nipissing Road. There were a couple of big GS's on the ride that easily handled it - but most of it was the usual rail trail - straight, flat and mainly boring. The local twisty gravel roads were much more fun for a "big dog" ride.

Rode the whole Seguin fully loaded on my 640 Adv to go to Sportbike back in 2003. Whole thing is GSable, with tourances, I'd think. Ended up leading the dualsport ride on the second day, there was a guy on a Guzzi Jackal (think Guzzi cruiser) who rode with us on street tires. Big dogs won't have a problem. It's old rail bed, so it's pretty easy riding, just watch out for a lot of whoops in sections.

A number of Big Dog riders are gathering Sunday, February 19th at 7:15 pm to meet & socialize. We are meeting at the Tim Horton's in Whitby, east of Brock St. off of highway 401.

The initial thrust of the gathering is to have a discussion focused on GPS tricks & tips, as well as to put the planning gears in motion to work out a couple of spring rides.

If your interested in attending, pm myself, Fin or Osteo

If coming from the East, you exit at the Brock St. exit and there will be a Sunoco gas station, Tim’s, Wendy's and McD's all right there at the off ramp.

If coming from the West, same thing, exit at Brock, come over the bridge (now going north) and you will see McD's and Tim's behind it.

I'm in Toronto and have travelled a few gravel roads in my day, but this dual sport stuff is beyond me. I have to rely on my Strom as daily transport from mid May until mid October :huh Would love to meet some others however

    Hey All

I'll be at the Tim's in Whitby Sunday night and I thought I'd offer a little incentive to others to come. I have two comp tickets for the Canadian International Auto Show held annually at Rogers Centre and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from the 17th to the 26th and I'm not going to be able to use them. So first one there gets them.

    See you there.

    We met.

    We talked.

    We laughed.

We laughed at ZZRon living in the frigid north. :evil

We never did decide on a ride. :lol3

The one thing we did decide to do was to keep this thread as our go to place to keep up with each other.

So the rest of you Ontario riders, whenever you want to get together to ride, do a tech seminar, or just shoot the shit, this is place.

    Even for you, Ron. :D

    Hey Guys

Sorry I could not make it, I sent an email to the Big Dog list - ended up going out to dinner with the wife (Dirt Bike Wife!) - I figured seeing as she is the one that tolerates me on the bike so much, I had better put my dues in when and while I can!! :D

See you guys soon... I just got in from walking the dog.. spring is in the air! :freaky :clap

I have checked my Garmin maps and I have City Select N.A. V6 and Metro Guide Canada V4. I didn't see the basemap you made reference to on the GPS Central website.

That enhanced basemap is part of my v3 canada metroguide, but is seperately listed in that drop down menu. As I loaded v4 on top v3, not sure if it's a seperate entity or not.

    Osteo...well...all I gotta say to you is...:whip

    Hey Guys

Enjoyed the gathering last night, learned a few things... Learned that Drift can really tell a story :D and that he knows a lot more than me about gps tech. Learned that between the six of us we can't get around to deciding anything. :rofl Hope we're better together when on the bikes cause that could cause some serious kaos. But I know that once the weather gets a bit warmer there are a few like minded crazies just chomping at the bit. Must admit though that the most important thing I learned I learned from Osteo's post when I logged in today... Ask him for advice with my better half before planning any rides or dropping $$$ on the bike.:lol3

    Cheers

    Fin
