Great to meet you two! Have a wonderful ride south
Julio & Luisa are in da house!
The day that we had to leave our friends in Lodi had arrived, still one great breakfast together and off we went
Riding out of the Holck kingdom, a place that had been home for us for the last 2 weeks
We took a narrow , twisty mountain road that Doug had suggested, to get to San Jose; great ride
And then we got to San Jose where we met Ben (DrBenny) and his wife Amber and his sister. We interchanged messages with Ben a few years back on his way down to Tierra de Fuego, but we had never met personally.
What a great bunch of people they are ! They took us for lunch to a Vietnamese restaurant and after that we walked out to the nearby Apple campus . And obviously we had our picture taken in front of the place where Steve Jobs used to do miracles
Ben helped me formatting my external hard drive so that it would work with my Mac , that means he did it and I watched
They prepared a really nice dinner for us, great food and great conversation
Later on we still went to a frozen yoghurt place
An other great day in the office
Thank you guys for your hospitality, we really enjoyed the short time that we shared
Kudos to Ben for hosting you.
If you get down here soon enough I might be persuaded to ditch work and ride in Baja for a few days.
Probably the last National Park on our way down south was Yosemite; what a great place and what a nice way to see it: with our friend and guide, Doug
WOW !! what a service !!!! Thank you
We just spent two great days here at Rogers and Diane's home . We had some great conversations, exchange of travel experiences, we got a guided tour to San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay (to find my Life is Good sticker)
It's just awesome the kind of people we are meeting ...couldn't get any better
Thank you guys for a great time and all the best for your upcoming journeys
At the famous gum wall in San Luis Obispo
And wherever we go, there is always good food around
My place is almost clean. Looking forward to seeing you guys again.
Safe travels, Julio & Luisa! Such a pleasure having you two as guests.
Good to see how motivating an announced visit can be
Thank you Roger, and don't forget to feed the cat
ya me estoy acercando a tu territorio ; a ver si me puedes dar algunos consejos sobre que hacer en Baja .
Yeah, the pets better all be alive when Honey gets back.
Getting ready for our last stretch here in the US, leaving Carpinteria for San Diego.
Really not looking forward to all these freeways...they are scary to us country boys !!!!
Luisa's up already??
Might as well have another cup of coffee, Julio.
He must be worried about the freeways. Said he would be on the road by 6:30 and at my place by noon. I didnt mention that its only about a 2.5 hr ride.
But, sounds like they left just in time for LA rush hour.
It was a miracle, but she was up and ready on time
You got that ride, worried I was :eek1:eek1:eek1
And you re also right about hitting rush hour
But we made it , and now we are enjoying life on the beach
Hallo Luisa! Servus Julio..... feine bilder von Yosemite!!!
Hi Barb , wie gehts? What's new in Portland? Is your B&B ready ? we are now on the southern Californian coast,it's so different from the Oregon coast that you showed us
For decades I had heard stories about the Big Sur and the Californian coastal highway...and now seeing it by myself was just great!!! What a never ending view, the smell of the air, the road, the sound of the ocean....
We left San Jose in the morning and went down to Santa Cruz
And out on the pier
And from there we headed down south along the coast
And then we got to this restaurant, that has been recommended to us several times, since we were in Seattle
Great spot with good food and an unbeatable view. Thx Matt and Inna for pointing it out to us
And after lunch more and more great riding all the way down to Paso Robles
