I used to live in Bradenton, and I'm seriously hurtin' for some ribs, beans and yams from Mr. Bones in Holmes Beach - planning to ride out at the end of February for a fix.

    A. Is Mr. Bones still there? It would really suck if I rode 2000 miles to find a Starbucks in that spot.

    B. Anybody interested in meeting me there to turn this into an advrider event?

Drop me a note when you firm up plans to head there, and I'll see if the missus will give me a day pass (and if I'm not teaching).

Any day is a good day for BBQ! :thumb

Since I can only take one week off to ride out and back, this'll be a middle-o-the-week deal, which I'm sure is going to limit participation a bit - most likely either the 22-23 of February or 1-2 of March, depending on what I can get done in the next two weeks.

Yep, Mr. Bones is still there. Ya gotta love a place that has a coffin full of beer at the front door.

I'm in, and I owe zippy a BBQ lunch anyways. I dunno about KBM tho'. Last time I had BBQ with him, they turned the power out at the place. :eek1

:lol3 You know you are amongst true friends when you can sit around a BBQ restaurant in the middle of freaking nowhere, some people stripped down to their unmentionables, and stew in your own smelly juices whilst eating a heaping plate of beans... :rofl

I'm aiming for a Tuesday, March 1st arrival. It might wind up being March 2nd, but it will most likely be the 1st - I think three 700+ mile days can be handily done without taking so much outta me that I can't enjoy the meal.

That's kinda late for me QM. I have a 3.5-4 hour drive down to that area, so I was hoping you were going to eat sometime around lunch.

I'd hate to have to make the trip back to Daytona several hours after dark.

If you move that time up to mid-afternoon, I'm in. However, don't bend you plans around me. :thumb

I can do that - in fact I'd prefer earlier too, I just figured it would be easier for local folks to attend on a weekday if it was after work.

How about 1pm? Or is that a problem for everybody else?

Lunch time works better for me too. I work 'til 7 PM on Tuesdays and the ride to Mr, Bones is about 30-40 minutes from work. I can do a long lunch though.

Maybe QM can just hang there for lunch and dinner? :thumb
If you rode a few gazzillion miles, maybe you should reward yourself and work through their menu... :evil
