Not an owner yet, just an admirer. But I had a chance to visit the Moto Guzzi Museum yesterday. Lots of pics HERE if you care to have a look.

Just picked up this 2004 V11 Sport Ballabio last month. I've added some handguards, a Fenda Extenda, and a Stuchhi luggage rack so I can use my top box when necessary. Great bike - I think that my poor old back prefers this riding position over the cruiser style of my California.

How do you like the Daytona over the V11? I am curious about a comparison between these variants.

The Daytona is much more elemental than the V11. The 5-speed transmission is acgricultural by comparison to the V11's six-speeder. The Daytona's riding postion is much more committed than the V11, due to clipon position.

I'm sure Blackcat will chime in about the Daytona's engine characteristics. I have a V11 LeMans and a Sport 1100 carb. The Sport 1100 carb is my favorite bike I've owned. It's elemental. It's a motor cycle.

I'm curious about the spoked wheels on the Stelvio and the SE Grisos...

Anyone think they have any chance of longevity? What happens when the o-rings sealing the spokes age and crack? Just back to tubes, I guess....? I think they're gorgeous on the Griso, personally, but I think if I were planning to keep the bike for a long time, I would be dissuaded from buying specifically because of the wheels...

Seems like lots of bikes have spoke wheels that hold up well, like the BMW GSA for example...
So as an owner of a Griso SE, i sure hope you're wrong :lol3

I really feel like picking up a Sport 1100 after that short read and shiny pic. Elemental...i like that.

    :lol3

That's one beautiful bike you have (either of the SEs)!

The GSA spokes are fixed to the perimeter of the rim, so the spokes don't penetrate the area holding air...Guzzi uses a design which is basically a normal spoked wheel, but uses o-rings on each spoke to seal each one individually. I know there are riders who do a tubeless conversion on tubed spoke wheels using silicone and tape. The O-rings are bound to be more reliable than that method, I'd think.

Sorry for the hijack....I frequent this thread because I'm on the hunt for a Griso 8v myself. Congrats to you on finding yours.
