The real truth is that the market is glutted with used bikes- As riders age out there's not enough young riders to replace them, so there's a surplus of bikes and a buyer's market. Recently another inmate here bought a K100RS with a Motorvation Formula 2 for $3500, and I bought an R80/7 with steering mods and a Texas sidecar from the same estate for $4000. Those bikes sat on the market for months despite being within a days round trip from Chicago or St.Louis, and were worth the selling price in parts alone. So don't let the deluded asking prices fool you, make a reasonable offer and if the sellers reject it, wait them out.

In all honesty your better off buying a good one already built. I didn’t think they could be had so cheap until after I built mine. I built a k75 with a velorex and we love it, but Between a complete service and upgrading everything it wasn’t cheap. I did all the work myself, made the subframe assembly and upgrade the chair suspension. Next season I’m going to build a new frame with electric lean and dual caliper disk.

We planned to upgrade to a k11lt and I even purchased one but we don’t want to break down the k75/velo combo, it’s size is perfect and not cumbersome! So instead I put on a leading link to make steering easier and am in the process of turbocharging it, to bring the power up to the level of a k100/1100.

The K75 pulls my huge EML very well. top speed is around 150 km/h, never have to shift down on Frech or German motorways.
