Dropped my Hack at Dauntless today for some modifications and improvements. Will leave it at Jay for 1.5 weeks as we have to divert (fly) to L.Vegas attending a convention. After that we'll head toward Kamloops some time the end of June or the first week of July.

Whenever you order a Sushi dish you notice the green paste on the plate side, it's a paste called Wasabi. You slab it on your food giving you some enhanced pungent kick. Been told that 99.9% of the Wasabi they put on the plate is a green dyed horseradish product from Germany. The real thing is from Japan which most restaurants cannot afford thus the Deutsches Wasabi.

Look at the price per pound for the real thing....

We made it to Dawson City 1 1/2 days ago for a much needed rest 6700 miles so far ! You have to stop in Dawson and check out the Dome. We are hesding up the Dempster Hwy to Tumbstone Park to view wildlife tonite, then back to the Top of the World Hwy to Chicken. I think when we get to Tok, AK we will have to head south towards home. Sorry not to be in touch but not much chance around these parts to get internet ! Hope you guys are well and maybe we will hook up.
    Take good care

Some of us (Dr Jim, Pomme de Terrorist, myself, and other random individuals) do a 11:00 am Saturday breakfast at "Smartypants" in Georgetown (a Seattle neighborhood), just a little south of Touratech if you're still around.

Good greasy breakfasts, excellent Bloody Marys, weird company. ;)

    ....we're baaaaaaack!

Finally got back on the road after being away for a week. Was about to produce some narratives and pics yesterday but had poor internet connection while staying with friends in the mountains.....!

Pictures simply does not do justice: this is Mikepa's driveway up to his house and garage. It's a very steep hill, I mean steep..am grateful for the ceramic clutch. Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed meeting Mikepa and his wife. We felt like we've known them a long time and enjoyed our stay immensely. From Mike I learned so much regarding sidecars...mapping... outfitting for long trips...and the art of eating Sushi.

Picked up our rig from Dauntless after leaving it with them for 6 days. Sidecar wheel bearing was changed and aadjusted..swing arm was evaluated and found to be correct. Toe-in and lean to were readjusted and I find the ride much better even though my alignment was ok. I did notice an improvement in straight braking and fuel economy.

Fully overloaded and ready to hit the road. Notice 2 tires loaded on sidecar as they are cheaper to get in lower 48. Predict I'll do tire change somewhere in Alaska.

Inmate Mikepa led us to a "must do" route to Whidbey Island via ferry..

    2 happy hackers...

happy hackers......notice Sharon's new jacket. The yellow Olympia jacket she had was not comfortable even though she had it for 3 years...the fabric remained stiff. She found a Rev'iti jacket in Seattle and it fits her like a glove. Having clothes that fit well for long distance riding is important and now I don't have to hear her complaining...we gotta keep our woman happy!

    Mikepa's WarBird....looking good!

Ft. Casey State Park...note the 2 guns located on the right side of the fort. Gun on the right is up and ready to be fired and the gun on the left is retracted below the fort walls to remain hidden until ready to be used.

Would have loved getting together with everyone at Zeke's...but we were quite anxious to get underway after being landlocked for a bit over a week. Sharon had to work a week in Las Vegas while Jay's shop worked on our sidecar so we were itching to move along and get back in the wild. Will let you know when we stop over on way back from Alaska and maybe then we can all hook up at Zeke's. Hope your mishap wasn't serious!!! :huh

Along route # 97(Okanogan, Omak) we again rode through apple valley and the Indian reservation.

These towns are located in a valley trapping most of the days heat and coolness of the nights. Ideal are for apple growth. Rains are also intermittend. It was quite hot here: 90 degrees and had to shed our mountain layers.

We entered the Canadian border at Oroville, WA. Could not locate NightHawk; a small border crossing on the GPS(didn't carry a Washington State map). It was Sunday and the border crossing at Oroville was empty. Customs admired our rig than asking the customary crossing questions.

This couple made contact with us back in Washington State and wanted to see the rig when passing through. We called them and gave them a lookee, shared sidecar stuff.

They are in their 60's and still ride ravenously in the dirt. Wife mans the leaning sidecar while he zooms through thick and thin. AMAZING!
