Is there a thread for Hali based inmates? My coast-to-coast four year tour of Canada continues all the way east in summer 13' when I drop anchor out there. I was there before, but not active on ADV. Point me in the right direction, or start something here!

Next summer, I plan to go to the Maritimes and N.L. too!

And the thought just consumes my mind, even though there's still six more months to wait.

Pretty quiet. Nice area, beautiful coastline. If you like lobster, your in the right place. Yarmouth is a relatively small town, although does have a couple of small shopping malls and a few big box stores. It's much quieter these days since the ferry to Maine was shut down. Really put a damper on the economy in Yarmouth and surrounding area, although there are rumours of a resurrection of ferry service.

Shelburne is also a small town, even smaller than Yarmouth. Nice little town though to be sure. It's about 3.5hrs from Yarmouth to Halifax, "the big city", or the closest thing you'll come to in the Maritiimes.

Admittedly the area has been beaten up quite a bit economically, with ferry shut down, forestry in the toilet and one of the largest employers in the area (Abitibi Bowater) shutting down the pump mill in Liverpool that has been the livelihood of generations. There is hope though. Hearty people that don't give up easy and don't fear hard work.

What brings you to the South Shore?
