Yes! 1.8" expected!!! This place will shut down.
Might have the unusual Thursday night beer. I am rooting for a two hour school delay.
Deer collision? That sucks! I hope you're OK.
My wife came within inches of a new hood ornament for her car a few nights ago. She thought she had hit it, but it was just the ABS kicking in, thank goodness. We hit a deer (I was driving) several years ago in her Suzuki XL-7 and did $1,800 worth of front end damage and it was just the size of a large dog..
I heard a statistic that 1 in 200 drivers in Virginia each year will hit a deer, that's incredible.
Although I appreciate wildlife, those things are varmints and need to be hunted year 'round.
Thanks to toddzacker and poondangle! I'll take all three! That'll give him three distinct engines to tear apart and try to put back together...
It's because Virginia drivers won't stop for anything, up and including a red light.
I grew up in Western New York where the deer are the size of your average dairy cow. They total cars. I managed to drive for 5 years up there and never hit one. Came close, but never made contact. My friend, who thought he was Mario Andretti's distant lost cousin, managed to bag several with a few different cars.
It's accident avoidance. Some are better at it than others.
.............................there's no such thing as an unusual beer at your house.
Well 24 years of driving cars & bikes on the road, the first 10 in western Michigan, and a total of over 2 millions miles altogether, I had two first this week.
First was I hit a deer on Monday...
Second was I had my first get off on the road with a bike...
Just so happens both were at the sometime. Monday I rode to the mountains & on my way back, 5 mins from rt 56 I was in a lean on a wet road, and 4 deer decided it would be a good time to cross.
Clipped the first one and hit the ground at 45 mph. The Klim pants & gloves held up great, and the SIDI boots did also. So the 1200GS is in the shop with $7k+ in damage, that is why the 650GS project bike will be finished earlier than expected. I have more time to work on it instead of ride.
I'm fine just had no front brakes or clutch for a 2 1/2 hr ride home from the mountains. The was fun!!!
That sucks,, good thing that it was the bike vs you taking the brunt of the damage
Glad you're ok man.
I hit one while driving my first Tacoma and ended up totaling it. I still look at driving/riding on woodsy roads a different way now.
Damn :eek1 glad you're ok.
Damn dude! Glad youre ok. Sucks that the bike is down but if youre going to hit a deer it seemed to go as well as it could.
Missed you at the ice racing in Hampton last night...

To say the water was deep today would be an understatement :) couple of times I felt like I was riding a seadoo
I tried to go but couldn't find anyone with the combination of both interest and availability to go with ;( ..I tried :) so ended up at the movies and then a bar for wings and beer :)
Congrats on the Niners win today Daang. Hating both Billichek and Ray Lewis, I'll be a San Fran fan for the next couple of weeks.
I'll be right there with you.
Plus, my roomate is a Niners fan... and rooting for Baltimore would just cause... problems.
Im not going to lie... I shed a single tear of joy.
Glad you made it through in one piece... hope the bike heals fast too.
