You've got a great eye and capture something unique. It's not for everyone. I particularly enjoyed the prior shoot with the Ducati and your two friends.

Don't listen to da bitchin, de say.

People never cease to amaze me with their sheer ignorance/desire to shove their views down other peoples' mouths.

Yeah I'm on Langley pretty much daily,, I have a few projects on there,, pretty much have been out there for about 15 years straight,, which is great ;) but the new policy kinda crapping my day,, took me over an hour to just get through the search to get materials on base yesterday ... Some days just more frustrating than others ;)

Has anyone ever taken their kids to Elizabeth City's MX track? I heard they have a section for kids on 50cc dirtbikes. Opinions? Tips?

Also, what do you guys think is a "reasonable and safe minimum" as far as gear goes for kids? MX boots, helmet, googles, gloves? What about a chest protector? Neck brace? If they are enthusiastic about riding, I would add more gear to the minimum as appropriate.

Hey wizz-o ever heard of the Charles City Dirt Riders? Nice place. I have meant the owner but have not ridden the property myself. Bob White is the owner and a helluva nice guy. Give em a shout or check with the Richmond guys as I know at least one of them has a child that rides there. I will PM him if your interested and tell him to get up with you.

Hack- I'm not sure how much the kids will like it, so I don't want to commit myself to a $695 membership fee + track maintenance days. Not until I know the kids'd stick with it. The CDDR website makes it sound like they aren't open to pay as you go or non-member guests...

    Thanks for the tip though

I think hampton roads dirt riders has a pay per visit plus small annual membership fee with a little track "maintenance help" asked for,, seem like nice people,, I haven't spoken to them lately,, haven't had the time to get more involved, maybe after I move

I'm a member but they're very virginia hare scramble oriented so their trails are very tight.

tidewater dirt riders is a fun organization , at the moment the one property has about 8 miles of single track trail all marked & in the process of building an enduro cross track . other land options were discussed at last meeting and looked promising for a second option . check out the web site & show up at a meeting , 100.00 is agreat deal for 1 vyear of riding:clap:freaky:lol3

Yeah I hear ya but I'd still give Bob a call. I went with a friend who took one of his classes ($70 I think cause she had to use one of his bikes) and afterwards he might just let you ride the rest of the day just to check things out. You didn't hear that from me. He (Bob) is very easy to get along with. Just a thought. I was thinking it was closer to you but Im not even sure about that. Good luck

So I get home and there's still a few of daylight left,, so I say I should run the DR a bit since its been sitting a few weeks, so I get on er and Kick 1-2-3 times, before it sat it was starting on the 3rd kick cold first kick warm,, so I double check the choke and give it a few more **getting a lil pissed and worried** so I stare at it,, grab a beer stare for a few more,, then realized I forgot to turn the key on....
    Cheers

    I believe that's Bob's standard start-up procedure.
