I recommend starting off with at least 1300cc's. Don't want her getting bored...........
and do you know where she might get 1 at?
Thanks again for the tire oil and sprocket change yesterday, it gave the V a soul
But that wouldn't change with experience.
WR250R for sale...finally got some photos posted.
Good luck with the sale Dave.
Are you getting another little bike that's BRT friendly?
I most likely will not be heading up until Friday myself. Was going to go up early, but have a lot going on at work and probably not a great idea to miss additional time.
I am actually kicking the idea around of taking both bikes up there.
Is the SE a competent DS bike? You bet your ass. But if there is ample mud, or slippery conditions, picking up a 450 lb moto loses its charm fast. I have ran some pretty nasty single track on it, and it does just fine, when there's traction.
Any time you want to take her for a spin, let me know. If you have never ridden one, it is well worth the time. I have yet to ride another moto that compares to it. I have had 5 years to get her pretty well sorted. She is a little rich on the start/idle circuit (not enough to pull the carbs again ) but absolutely rips in the mid and up top.
Will have plenty of room in my truck and trailer for another bike and gear if anybody wants to save some money and "moto-pool" up. Plan on leaving out earlyish Friday and returning Sunday.
Never a bad idea to have a back up bike. The SE would do fine for Shen5. Hell you might even wanna do one day on both lol.
But incase of a mechanical its always a good idea to have another optional bike. One of our guys missed the event completely last year due to a bike failing the day before up there.
Exactly what I was thinking. Would rather spend my time riding than fixing a major issue.
Agree with Daaang about a 2nd bike. Savetosave was literally saved last year by bringing his 2nd bike. It's a good insurance policy. I've thought about bringing my kdx as well, just not sure about the room though. Still working on those details.
Would love to try out that big beast sometime. Thanks for the offer. Maybe us Shen guys could meet up for some type of ride before we head out to the mountains??? It wouldn't be a bad idea to place some faces to names...
What kind of tires are you putting on your KTM? Just curious. I'm debating whether I should change my rear before going out there. I currently have a MX51 on it. It's great offroad, but suffers on the pavement. I'd hate to get anything that's good on pavement because I feel as though I'd lose something in the rough stuff. I may just replace it with the same tire. Haven't decided though.
A year later and the bike still does not work.
Standard Jason bike ownership HAHAHA
Just got my registration done, better late than never!
Does anyone heading up that way have room on a trailer for a hitch hiker and his bike? More than willing to chip in for food & fuel.
Shenandoah500 - October 5th (Saturday) and 6th (Sunday)
OMD - Old Man Daaang
BD - Brother Daaang
Did I miss anyone???
Hey Falcon, time to sign up!
Those on the fence should decide sooner rather than later. I have been getting emails from WATR stating that available spaces are filling up fast. I think the event will hit max entries before the deadline.
We need roll chart holders, right?
Bring your own or pay $10 at the event.
They have a limited number...
I called ahead last year and they held one for me with my welcome package.
