Sorry for the interruption, but what do you think is the best trail bike (old or new) in the 250 range? Looking for something that really has some grunt, but is light and easy to handle on the trails and rough spots.

    Thanks
    Chris

Hi everyone, long time lurker with not much time for riding, but I had a great time this weekend retracing your routes around Paw Paw and the Green Ridge State Forest.

I only wish this was closer to me (2+ hours on the slab just to get there), but this thread is inspiring! :evil

Had a good ride foiled by a dead battery (I think)
Stopped in Parsons so my wife could stretch her legs.

LC4 wouldn't start:huh No headlight or dash lights.

    Cleaned the battery terminals, nothing.
No kick start, shoved it around a few times and couldn't bump start it.

Called the boy child, he was rounding up the ramps and tie downs.

Tried to push start it a few more times and then success.

Put the seat back on, hauled ass to the house.
Battery shows 12.5V until you turn the key on then it shows .4 V

    Off to get another battery.

"Grab" The monument is still there. On the way in, which is double track, I nearly became a hood ornament on a cadillac hearse; they planted a fresh one in the tiny cemetery that you pass on the way.

From here its moving a little south.

Intersection of Brown Rd and Brown Rd at N39.97991 W79.38520. Depending on your direction of travel there is some pucker-factor, you should have gotten it at the prior location. Here it will stay, I'm not going in there alone again. I was heading S-E on Brown Rd and you should know that Google maps doesn't show that passage thru the noch. After leaving the Tag spot I got in way over may head on a steep rocky descent.

This is an aggressive tag. You probably won't like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a tag of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to a safer and more familiar territory--maybe something like a Ride to Eat.

BTW, if you have goretex boots, wear em.

Nice grab and move. My bikes are giving me fits. As soon a something runs reliably, I will go for this one. Unless someone else gets there first. Nice area.

It is kinda hard to get motivated to ride up that way with what you have right out your front door. :deal

Me too. I have only ridden south and west this year.

Yes, I am making excuses. :D

That was my direction too, south and west.
Found some new roads within an hour of the house.

Working 12 hr+ night shifts right now, 2 bikes are put away for the winter and only have the EXC ready to ride now.

You gonna be in da UP all winter? That place makes Alaska look temperate.

Gonna be here until it gets too cold for us to work.
That might take until December, but I doubt it.
