Great ride today. Got to ride new roads and meet new people. There's not much better than that. I must be light-to-medium-core because no matter how hard I tried I couldn't quite keep up with you guys. But the new KLRs are heavier so that must be it. :D Hope I didn't hold you guys up too much but I sure had a lot of fun! Next time, I'll stop and pick up any bits like gloves, etc. that get ripped off your bikes due to the extreme speeds. :lol3 Look forward to the next ride. Here's the pics from today (here's what everyone that didn't ride today missed):

:dealYou need to watch out for little bald guys on highly modified Ducatis.....but I'm sure you've already figured that out the hard way.:lol3

You need to make sure that you have a strong right wrist to keep up with that guy.:wave

or just wait and catch up while he's plugging a flat tire.......

There's a reason I'm so partial to my plastic Walmart pump and 30 plug stripps (banjo knows)... me likey flat tires.

The old school rally is set up for April and I want it to be in Meadows of Dan so Barbie can ride it. The other locations are too far for a new airhead rider. Why don't you join us?

I hope some of you guys will be interested in this. I have been to two and they are a hoot.

Don't worry if you have new stuff; this crew welcomes everyone. You will see some really great bikes at this rally. Last year I saw two pristine old Guzzis. I know a few of you guys here; hope to meet more of you since my farm is in Surry County.<!-- sig --><!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

I went for a ride yesterday on my four wheeler. The ground is real soupy up here in Troutman. We had like 4 inches but its all but gone today. I was thinkin just good knob spacing would be appropriate. No real need for screws unless you plan to wait for the streets to freeze over and ride on them. Good Luck, that sounds painful to me. (Ouch) I have Kenda Enduro tires on my 400. The rear does okay in mud but the front seems to pack too easily and stay packed. I was thinkin about puttin my full knob back on the front for winter wetness. Hasn't been a problem till now it has been so dry. Be interesting to know how the screws work out on frozen pavement. :ear

    No luck at Home Depot:ddog

1/2 in was the shortest in stock....small boxes too...

I didn't have time to hit a real hardware store.... maybe tomorrow.

Yep....it depends on how "icy" it gets. That last snow never even stuck to the street down here, just an inch or two in the grass and the change to rain melted it pretty fast.

:dealThe low temp for Mon is forecast to be 14*... I'm thinking everything would be iced up pretty good after that...I'm off work Sun-Mon... and if they don't plow my neighborhood I could enjoy being a real menace.:evil

But you are right about the screws not being the thing for pavement......for mixed travel a few studs would be the way to go.

This pic from the "studded southern NH" thread here in east is what I've been dreaming of........
