Sweet look'n ride my friend
Hey Centerline, do you have mid-controls on your Fat Bob?
RC - thanks, I dig how you painted your rack to match.
I did a few little mods to change the look of the bike like half moon floor boards, V&H pipes, black controls, classic rotors, lay down LED tail light, tag holder, mini mirrors, Big Sucker air cleaner. I even added a bottle opener to the solo bag just for shits (can you find it in the origional post?). When I had the power coating done I also took in most of the hardware so when I put it back together it would match - a great example is the pully and bolts - all look natural. I also used some black sign painters paint to hit any bolt that stood out (look at the bottom of the frame). Those little things make a big visual difference. When asked if it's old or new I know I hit the mark.
Notice the origional back seat has found a home as a back rest for the TW.
Here's mine... used for commuting to work, travelling around the continent (some rough road work), Iron Butt rides, and competitive Long Distance Rallies.

Hey Trumpeter, I'm scheduled for an Iron Butt ride in a couple weeks. Where are you out of ?(ps: fill in your profile, n00b)
My '09 Fat Bob....
You should offer that first pic for the sign in page pics... Awesome photo. I haven't seen too many pics of guys scraping (or damn near) pegs on big ol' Harleys. Semper Fidelis
CL - love the color - I looked a the Fat Bob but obviously settled on the Fatboy. I was not a fan of the back fender - I have that style fender on my VMax and wanted a full one, but I like how it shows off that fat rear tire. With those fenders you can see much more meat than on the Fatboy. I dig the 2-1 - was thining of that but did not think it would go with the old school look I was going for. Very nice bike you got there.
Agreed! That photo is beautiful. I just nominated it for front page status.
So, is the XR1200 a girl's bike too? 'Cause I wouldn't want to get a guy's bike by mistake, now.
Local dealer has them in orange and black. But they are asking $700 over MSRP, which seems a bit ridiculous in this economy. :eek1
I'm out of Toronto, Canada. (and I filled in my profile)
Good luck with your IB ride. I did my first a couple of months ago.. 1000 miles around the lower Great Lakes. Also did the Spank 2009 rally in Arkansas Read about it.
I'm also entered into the Not Superman Rally in July. 54 hours of fun out of Missouri. I'm one of only 2 Harley riders entered out of 50 or so bikes.
Great report! The ride next week is out of a Harley shop so I expect there will be more Harleys than mine. And since mine is a V-Rod, and not a 'proper' Harley, who knows, it may well be the only V-Rod entered.
My 3 gallon TourTank is an essential reason I can even consider the IB. That and the AirHawk seat cushion.
Some pictures from a ride a took Saturday on the Street Bob.
Is that tire smoke from the front tire?
Looks like the road is wet to me
looks like the dragon's tail. i have a pic similar to that from the photag down there. killboy or something like that.
sweet looking ride though. what kind of pipes are they?
