Ride over the N Cascades. Turn left at Mazama. Ride the dirt roads up and around Hart's Pass.

    Anyone?

    My map says 6197.

It also puts harts pass on the Pacific Crest Trail, though.

I'm thinking about it. My wife returns from Atlanta Saturday night. I might be able to get away Sunday. Streets & Trips says 205 miles from my house to Hart's Pass via Mazama up I-5 to Hwy 20 to Lost River Road and it takes 4 hours. Take Hwy 9 instead and run a few extra likes of dirt and I'm looking at a 400+ mile day. We had talked about going to the NHRA Drag Races Sunday, so I need to see what Cori wants to do. I'll be in touch.

Is this what you had in mind?

USGS shows the Pass elevation as 6198. The Pacific Crest Trail also crosses Hart's Pass. Lost River Road is also County Road 9140.

Sounds fun, you guys always pull this ride over hwy 20 when I can't make it. I need to clean out the garage and move all the shelving from the back of the garage for the contractors coming in :cry

I'd prefer to take the 530 via Darrington vice I5 thru Sedro. Time wise its a toss up...with less slab.

    Whatta ya think?

Here's the Route starting in Redmond (my house of course) using; 202, 522, 9, 530, 20, Mazama - Lost River Road/ County Road 9140, Hart's Pass. Trip distance is down slightly to 192 miles, ride time is up slightly to 4 1/2 hours. I'm sure it will be much faster on bikes for some unexplained reason. I heard stories about Johnny, I know I wouldn't be able to keep up.

Someone's been telling you tall tales...

AFAIK, the road up there has some nasty drop offs, I'm planning on taking it at a relaxed pace. If others wanna blaze ahead so be it...

From Harts Pass, we'd turn right up the switchbacks to Slate Peak - elevation in the 7400' range:
