:lol2 I was trying to meet up with Eric in Elkton at the Subway before he left. Apparently his shift lever rattled a bolt loose and he nearly lost the lever (Wunderlich has an extra safety wire holding it on). I wanted to see his roadside repair...you caught me on the return just closing my loop:1drink

I need to go riding with you one of these days. I've been on maybe half the roads you mentioned and want to go back. Thanks for the pics and report!

Great report Mike. I had to get out three WV maps and scratch my head to follow (maybe I should buy a WV Gazeteer or a GPS).
Derilict and I rode Highland Scenic, etc. 3 weeks ago and RedneckRider and I a 300+ mile loop last week in some of the same areas. You've given me lots more to look for though, thanks.

Mike, Looks like you had a great ride on Sunday, and it also looked like we missed each other by minutes at the New River Gorge Bridge. Here are a few more pics from Saturday, and a picture from the bottom of the Gorge on Sunday. As usual, you were an amazing guide and it was a pleasure to ride with you.

For those riding to West Virginia, I highly recommend Fox's Pizza & Motel in Brandywine, WV--$47 a room after tax. Gail's and my bikes outside the rooms just before HBN showed up:

+1 on the Fox Motel and Pizza. Small, but clean. I've stayed there for <40 bucks more than once.
The chicken at the gas station across the street (BP?) ain't bad either!
Great shot of the bridge too :clap

Sweet Eric! Really like the bridge shot :thumb

BatmanMike, we can chat about gear for sure...takes time to personally tailor the essentials.

May be in novaland this weekend but expect pics all the same :D

Excellent photography. (surely you did not take all of these pictures with your phone?) Ride reports like this make me really want to explore WVA.
And I hear you loud and clear about 606. I happened upon that road one time by accident and had to stop and take a deep breath.

Thanks! Yup all pics taken by my HTC Incredible Phone...not even at the highest resolution! 606 would be righteous on my Ruckus :super

You have to "commit" to some of those up-hill switchbacks on 606. You hesitate in your turn-out climb, and you'll be picking up a bike.

Boon Booni (Scott) loves the East side of 606. Me ... not so much ... the pavement is a total disaster with loose gravel, dirt, pot holes, ruts etc . I hate switchbacks I that can't look all the way through without getting a kink in my neck. The west side is EXCELLENT!!! :ricky :ricky :ricky .

I do loves me some tight switchbacks... Those on 606 are nice because they have such a steep inside line just like it used to be a dirt road that someone just dropped some asphalt on to.
