Started my bike on Saturday to go with the BMW club to do the tar route for the GS eco challenge and the word lamp started flashing on the dash. I thought it may be one of the indicators but as I heard a car skidding to the left of me as I entered a round about I realized it must be the headlight:muutt. I had to ride over the middle of the circle to avoid contact. I did the rest of the ride with my highbeam on. Does anybody know if the warranty cover's the headlight?

Warranties vary from country to country, but even in heavily consumer-biased countries like the USA, "consumable items" such as bulbs, fuses, brake pads and tyres are excluded. I'd be surprised if SA was any different.

You might have to spend five minutes and $20 replacing it, sorry.

The bulbs are the same, so swap in your high-beam bulb until you get a replacement. They take scant seconds to change.

Just don't touch the bulb. The grease from your fingers will cause a hot spot and premature bulb failure.

Wipe the bulb off with some alcohol to remove fingerprints & grease.
