Well I bid a fond farewell to my Held gloves today. Three years of hard service has left them unspeakably filthy and with a funk that has finally forced the wife to issue an ultimatum of either getting rid of them or I have to stay at least 20 feet away after I wear them.
I tried one last ditch effort to cleanse them of their impurities and they pretty much disintegrated.... :cry

Im not one to get attached to gear but damn I loved those gloves. Im now in the market to start a relationship with a new pair and the Held "Akira's" are starting to look like a candidate. I dont know where to get them in seattle though. Im not going to Ride West....

Anyone know of a Held Retailer? Seattle Cycle Center didnt have them.

FWIW, I've seen Held gloves at Cyclebarn in Lynnwood. In case you strike out elsewhere...

If your not attached to a local dealer order 'em off tha intanet. Cheap. Actually, don't Held use kanga skin instead of leather? Perhaps a trip to down under is in order!

Eastside does have a very good selection of Held's in at the moment, if you haven't already been over there.

I just took two ratty pair of Steve's and a pair of Krypton's over to Leather Maids in Kirkland. She was able to breathe a little more life into them, but I'll be buying another set of Held's soon enough, it seems.

Derby Cycles had them on sale a couple weeks ago. Their service is exceptional.

First thing I noticed about these gloves - after a day of riding in pouring ass rain, they won't turn your palms black from the leather dye. It took me 3 days to get the black dye off my hands after my last wet weather ride. I might just need a pair of these...

I went to Eastside Motorsports today and checked out the gloves. I dunno what theyve done with the Held touring gloves but compared to my old pair they seemd to suck. I went for some blue/brown/black Held Akira's, busted that tags off, paid for 'em and rode on home. Very nice! (Pricey though....)
