I didn't take any pictures, but wanted to post up and say that my family had a great time. It isn't often that a group that large can get together and everybody gets along! Even Clifford (my big red dog) made lots of new friends. If we make it out that way again, it will have to be for more than the 3 days/ 2 nights that we stayed. Our Saturday ride was a nice casual ride until the hill of doom that tried to claim Chip and his bike. It didn't seem too bad until you so much as looked at your brakes and went into a slide. I won't lie, after watching Chip crash, I walked that section! Travis and I just did a short ride on Sunday and watched part of the Checker's race as well as poking around in some rocks closer to camp. We saw the same pile of granite cubes as in your pic's but we rode to it from the south, up and over the pile! I didn't notice the road until after we crested the top of the pile, that sure would have made things easier! (especially considering that I was on the porker 690!) Unfortunately, this ride has me thinking real hard about buying another bike. My GG300 worked great out there, but the 13 year old suspension kept speeds in check and the lack of a license plate has me considering something new. My 690 is a fun all 'rounder but after yet ANOTHER close encounter at speed in the whoops (entered at 72mph and started swapping almost immediately, I was able to scrub off enough speed to bring it back somehow but I really thought that was gonna be a nasty highside AGAIN), it might be time to get back on a more offroad focused dualsport. It was fun riding with you guys and look forward to doing so again, maybe somewhere closer to home (Sequoia's?) next time!
