Living in Lompoc CA, you cant help running into bikers/clubs/outlaws, because the only kawi dealer within 50 miles of lompoc is in Santa Maria and its a HD/Kawi/Triumph dealer. Id ride up on my Adventured up KLR with 40 HDs in the lot trying to find a spot to park on a Saturday Afternoon. All these thug looking types would just stare at me as I went in to buy Oil/filter for my KLR. I just hate their mentality, I’m not out to pick a fight with anyone, and will mind my own business....so long as you mind yours.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I call bullshit NO KLR owner rides 50 miles to pay dealer retail for oil and filter when there is a NAPA in every town

never had a problem with them.. they are all usualy pretty good people, some you don't want to fuck with,
but the same asshole that'd paint the wall with your brains if you fucked with him would give you a ride
to the gas station. so show em respect and it might save your hide.

The word respect has a different meaning when you meet them. You follow their rules for respect and you have no problem. That is what it means.

You don't start nothing, do not show any sign of intolerance for their activities, no matter how illegeal or disgusting they are, and you can interact on a very limited basis with them. It is a pack mentality, you go after one, and petty soon you have the entire gang after you.

You see one broke down, and do not stop, and they will not care, they have already called a brother for help. If you stop, help if you can, and leave if asked.

Now if a Prospect decides to mess with you to prove how tough he is, then you got a problem. So best to not associate with them.

Yeah some people seem to romanticize these guys for some reason, just another street gang slinging dope and broads.

Pretty much sums up every gang out there.

Agreed. It's not respect for them,,,,it's respect for what they can do to you if you cross them,,,a huge difference among true men.
My dear departed dad used to hang with them, not as an Angel, or even an associate, just a good buddy of an Angel who ended up drinking with them alot. I was invited a few times to one of the big clubhouses for a sip after I offered to fix this guy's muscle car which was parked at the club house. I showed up on my Norton once which caused a positive response and stories of the old days,,,,I seriously think showing up on a Jap bike would have been the last time I was asked to come around.
I stopped going there when I noticed there were cars starting to hang out down my street about time I'd come home. Soon after that, one of our business contracts repairing construction [ a certain municipal police force headquarters] put me on the no entry list, never a reason given. I quickly put 2 n 2 together, I was being watched by Mr. popo. Stopped that habit right away. That was 20 yrs ago,,,all 'clear' now.

The way to show a HA that you are cool even though you ride a BMW. Carry a 9/16th in your tool roll just for them.

It seems to me these gangs use the trappings of a motorcyclist to intimidate and bully. They are hard to respect.
However I have stopped to help a broken down Nazi helmet wearing HD chopper rider. He was most appreciative.

couldn't resist....

Its funny, but being a woman can be an advantage with patched clubs. As long as you're not one of "their" women they're pretty darn nice and polite. Once I was looking vainly for a parking space and there was one spot next to a Harley in one parking space:lol3 in a group of about 30 - I waved to one of them and they waved for me to take the spot. Looked pretty funny - my itty bitty Rebel in the Harleys:rofl I knew nobody would mess with my bags while I was parked there and went in the store!

We are selling raffle tickets to raise money for my father-in-law, who has cancer. The prize is a Harley dontated by my wife's cousin. All blinged out, of course.

So we set up a booth at a biker event in North Phoenix this past spring. I thought we'd sell a lot of tickets.

The Angels set up a booth two down from us selling t-shirts and other logo stuff. I thought it was pretty amusing that this club known for bad-assery was now selling t-shirts. Sonny Barger showed up for a while. This got my hopes up for selling tickets because I thought it would draw a big crowd.

No. We sold 15 tickets all day. Apparently $25 per ticket is a lot of money for that crowd. Also, a lot of people who came by said "I already got a bike." That means you've reached your limit? lol.

A couple of Angels came by the booth. They were normal, at least in that setting.

True enough, but a thrifty (cheapass) KLR owner knows that Harley will sell you a CVK40 carb slide for about half of what Kawi will.:deal:lol3

Which is really surprising looking at all the overpriced shit at a HD dealership.

I have an acquaintance here at work that used to ride with the Outlaws, he's weird as hell, but a pretty good guy.
