So (2) months ago I had the problem of only able to run with the Choke on. Took the carb out, cleaned, Seafoamed, New Plug, New Air Filter and New gas. Ran GREAT!

Now I'm back to the same thing. Anyone out there experiencing this problem? I ride every day. Never sits for longer than the night or while @ work. Just took the carb off again. Did the same routine and this time no improvement.

Sure helps to actually find the problem when you dig into a symptom, instead of just doing work that should fix it.

Is there a screen in the fuel valve that might have junk on it ? I ad that happen from a rusty gas can.

Add a in-line fuel filter this time when you clean the carb. They sell little generic ones at Cycle Gear for $3. You can also find them sometimes at O'Riely in the lawnmower section.

    It won't happen again.

This is classic "My pilot/idle jet is getting clogged."

Thanks everyone! I thought I did a thorough job yesterday, but I guess not. Took the carb apart again this morning. Soaked, cleaned, compressed air and added a 3rd #40 washer to the needle. Went and got a fuel filter and Presto!! She's running like brand new again!!

Thank you "WB-PDX" for the tip!

And "Peterman"....I will not go to a pre 2006. They have their problems as well. Been there Done that!

One thing you might consider is trash the vacuum petcock and install a manual one. Read up on those vacuum petcocks------I hate em ! I have had 2 motors fill up with fuel due to those things.
