HELP! 990 behaves as if it's hitting rev limiter at 6.5k

    Like the title says. My 2011 990 Adv starts and runs fine. No hiccups, accelerates well with all of the power your would expect. In fact, I suspect that the problem may have existed for a while because I don't normally need to rev beyond 6.5k RPM in everyday riding. If I try to accelerate beyond 6,500 RPM, it cuts in the same manner as when you hit the rev limiter. It's 100% consistent. It happens every time I try.

    I'm not even sure where to start looking. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    I would start with fuel delivery. Have you been filling with low quality fuel recently? How many miles on the fuel filter?

    Fuel filter. Mine did the same. filter is inside the gas tank.

    Check the spark plug coils are seated all the way.
