I was at Crown King today and saw on the bulletin board at the store that the Fire Department needs an electric range for the fire house. I called the Chief to see if they still needed one and he confirmed that they did. I checked at Home Depot to get a price on one and the lowest price one they had was $350. Are there any members that would like to donate some money so we could buy them a new one? I have a van and can deliver it. The Chief's number is 1-928-632-7163 if you would like to confirm before donating. I'll start with $25 and my son and daughter are both chipping in $10 each so that makes $45. I could accept donations in my PayPal account or pick any other "trust worthy" member to collect the donations.

    UPDATE 3/13/13
We will be accepting donations till Sunday 3/17/13.
We are right at having enough money now and any extra over and above what we need for the range will be put on account at the Crown King store for the Fire Fighters to use as needed at the fire house.
Once again I would like to thank everyone that helped!!

Let me check around. Does it have to be a new one, or would a used one in good shape do?

Gas or electric? And since we're talking crown king, I'm assuming a gas range would be propane?

Never mind. I just re-read your post. Electric it is.

    I'm in . Sending PM.

Where are all the folks who rode the ATR Wickenberg ride 2 years back ? The Fire Department fed us all in the Snow, and had heaters, gas, and support for all that needed it. Time to pay it forward ? :ear

They even fed us the year prior when we rode in from Prescot.

I posted a link to this on the ATR club Forum, there should have been a few donations from that.

I'm at around $150 so far. Also waiting to here back from a Home Depot manager. He said he could do at least $100 off on his own but is calling his boss to see if he can do more.

I'm assuming that the Arizona Trail Riders will be making a donation for this seeing as how the CKFD has been a very integral part of our past DS events.

Again, terb, thank you for making us all aware of this, the Crown King FD is most definitely one of the best in the state and deserves any and all of the help we can give them!

Sweet! ATR is donating $200 and with other members chipping in with there own cash I think we have a total of $250. I'm sure we can find them a nice new electric range for $500 and even have a little left over for some new pot's and pan's to cook with :D

Also, one of our members goes to CK regularly to maintain radio towers and he is willing to pick-up and deliver the range next Thursday.

Terb (Tom) I'll PM you so we can work out getting all the donations in one place.

    Adv Rider ROCKS!!! :clap
