Wow. Sorry to his family and friends. Rest in Paradise.
Very sorry to see this. I know we were all hoping for a very different outcome.
Rest in Peace Jim Lutter. Keep rippin it up for us wherever you are.
Ride with the Wind my Friend.....
Marilyn, we're sorry for you and your family's loss of James. Know that he'll be in the thoughts of our adventure-riding community.
This is tragic.
So sorry for this to have happened.
Rest in peace.
My thoughts to all the family and friends.
Such tragic news.
Prayers to all his family and friends.
Died doing something he loved
Sounds like he most likely did not suffer
I hope to be so lucky when my time comes
RIP and Ride On
Bummer, could be any one of us, RIP
Very true, could have been any one of us.
My thoughts are with the Lutter family. Very sad situation.......
I have searched the news reports and have not seen mention of where he was found specifically.
I'm curious to know the road he was riding, and a possible spot for a memorial marker.
All the reports mention is "a remote forest road".
RIP, and condolences to his family.
As soon as I learn it, I will post it. I, too, like the idea of a small memorial. If USFS doesn't permit roadside markers, we can put one "15' off the road, and 12' down the embankment". Jim and I loved riding FRs in OR and WA. Though he was a good fisherman, he would never bring his fishing rods, the guy loved pizza too much. Pizza in Packwood, always with a dark beer ... one of his favorite oases.
So very sad to read. Jimbo was a friend, and the many miles that separated us never changed that. This is a lesson to me, and perhaps others, about not putting things off-- he'd offered roof and bikes to ride many times since moving to the mainland, but I didn't make it happen.
Requiescat in Pace.
My thoughts go out to family and friends. Such a sad thing.
Very well said. RIP James. Godspeed.
