Just crossed through the silt at RM 540. Headed to the chase crew at RM 545. Food time...
fresh pulled pork sandwiches? - I remember that from your RR. I told my buddy that story and that if he races the Mexican 1000 I'll try to have good food at his pits!
Sheesh I could go for that right now. Hopefully someone hands Frog one of those latte moca starbucks things that were so tasty that he handed me.
Chase crew reported that Matt had a little one-on-one with a TT! He is ok, a bit sore, the bike isn't as shiney as it was 500 miles ago but he is on the move again.
TT #97 is in lead at RM 705!! Top 3 bikes 1x 8x 5x are right on top of each other.
Man, that goes to show how far out in LaLa land you were at the pit. The "latte moca starbucks thing" was left over coffee grounds run throgh Frogs sock. It's all we could find to warm you up. I sure hope this chase crew is meeting a Frog that is as wound up & as good to go as you were!!!
RM 550 By the way, chase truck spot is back on line.
RM 570. Crew is in Baja Pit at RM 615 will wait for him there. Weather Man is back up if anyone is still awake.
Best of luck Matt. RM615 is where I finished my preride attempt :) Hope that silt and rocks were fun at night.
Good on ya mate. Take a breather, keep nourished and ride safe.
He's been moving slow but steady for the last two hours. I'm sure he's ready for some food and a change in terrain!
Does frog take a nap in the night or push right through?
I just got off the phone with the Frogger at RM 615.
He's had a rough few hours in the silt beds. Trucks going by causing him to hug the high silt bed walls or scramble out. Also his the starter fuse blew and he's been too tired to kick start it so he's using a pair of pliers to jump the bike to life. He's sounds good though and is in good spirits. They are working on the bike a bit. He's not at all injured, just sore. He needed a little sit down break anyway :)
He'll be motoring on soon.
RM 637 - Back rolling again.
The sun is just coming up in Ensenada. Hope the daylight gives Matt a burst if energy.
Good morning. Long slow night...deeep silt beds, lots of race traffic and a little fatigue setting in. There was some problem with the "magic button" and being too tired to kick the bike over, he began jump starting it with pliers? I think my bike is missing more parts
I think Tim is right, with the sun coming up Matt will get a second wind.
RM 713 He should be on faster roads for most of the way into Loreto. The sun has got to feel good!!
GO FROG GO!!
