    It's been a long winter.

Last fall, I dumped my baby doing gymkhana, and dented my tank :cry.

She has been apart all winter for a "refurb".

I always figured that the previous owner had it repainted because he dropped it. He lived down a long dirt / gravel road, and I think he must have dumped it there, because the crank cover had some small rock scratches on it. When I dumped it in the parking lot, you could see the bondo underneath.

I never did like the flames anyway, so I decided to do everything right, for my peace of mind.

I ordered and installed a new gas tank, and front fender, and rear tail section from Honda in the '04 year model color "Matte Uranium".

    Installed new OEM:

    Stator cover
    Clutch cover
    Clutch cable
    Rear grab rail 'gaskets'
    Fuel pump gasket
    Wheel bearings front and rear

    Installed:

EBC Contour brake rotors front and rear
EBC HH pads front and rear
New sprockets front and rear with DID chain
Racetech .85 fork springs / went to 125mm fork oil

    Removed:

    Charcoal emissions canister
    PAIR system

    Had wheels powdercoated gloss black
Had grab rail and gas tank cap trim ring powdercoated flat black.

New sprockets front and rear with DID chain

Got her out on the road for the first time in months today. Awesome weather for it... :clap

    Smitty908, it looks absolutely amazing!
Love the color and great choice of crap to put on it!

Just the exhausts seem too big/bulky to me, could be the pictures,
I really like how the stock exhausts on 919 fit in the rear, and I'd leave
the rear end (licence plate holder) stock too for a more stock look.

    Great stuff!

Looked bad before. Looks amazing now! Easily one of the best looking bikes I've seen in some time. Great job

Not that I wouldn't ride it the way it looked before, but this is such a huge
change, it looks perfect, and that matte green makes it look more "modern"
in 2014 but the lines of the bike still scream "classic".

Exactly why I always wanted one of those or a naked bandit.

I also have a set of peridot green body work waiting to be put on.

But mines going over a set of rather pinkish candy glory red.

Nice change for the blue flame bike. Especially the wheels.

    This.

It's always great to see a true labor of love.

Makes me want to buy a 919 and do the EXACT same thing.

    Outstanding.

Just got it the way I want it...........which means I will probably sell it.:lol3

CBR/VFR 6 spoke wheels with wave rotors and new PR2's
    CBR signals
Renthal road high bars with Vibranators.
Black calipers (I REALLY hate gold on bikes).
    Aprilia mirrors with extenders.
Corbin seat ready to go on in the garage and a smoked Honda OE screen that should be here in a week or so.

I overlooked this bike for years because the "testers" talked about vibs, which I've had problems with in the past on other bikes. Let me tell you, I had NO problems with the stock bars and weights. Now with the Renthals, BB's in the clamp area, and Vibranators it is the SMOOTHEST bike that I have owned.

A little dirty, but it has been a LONG winter.......

Is the pictures, in person they almost disappear when the rest of the bike is in view. And they're quiet, stealthy like until it's revved..... Then IT disappears !

    Super nice Paul!

I rode mine to work this morning, the 919 always amazes me at what a great street bike it is, especially when I haven't ridden for a while.

Beautiful 919 PAULIBIKER, I just think the front rotors fit the styling of the
bike, I would have kept something more traditional (preferably stock).

Love my 919 dearly. This is the beginning of my fifth season, and as far as I can recall this is the first spring I haven't been jonesing to find a new ride for the summer. After a couple 600's I was itching for the liter-bike super sport upgrade last year, and my cbr1000rr just wasn't for me in the end. Turns out I like accessible and predictable torque and a upright seat/bars. It's also my girls favorite bike to ride pillion on (FZ6R & CBR)

day i got it last year, 02 with just barely over 4k miles
