Man.. that green..
You guys need to print this out. Cool family memory right there!
Took the ole gal out last evening....
And got myself into a little trouble.... (yeah, that's snow)
It depends upon how you ride and what weight you have on board. I just returned from Ohio loaded at speed & on the slab. My low fuel light would trigger @ 153 miles. Usually on a day trip with no luggage and twisties; about 167. The most I have gone to amber was 203. I figure when the light cycles on I have a gallon in reserve.
This weekend I was playing TOR.. I stopped for fuel right around 80 miles on the tank and put in 2.25 gallons..
So I got almost exactly 35 MPG.
5.3 gallon tank would net me 188 miles to an embarasing phone call.
A one gallon reserve would put the light on right at 153.
Sounds about right - I think the 919 had an advertised 138mpg.
I have an unrelated and 100% stupid question for you 919 owners.
nine - one - nine
nine - nineteen?
Here's my Fuelly page for my 919 for those asking about fuel economy:
The bike is 100% stock
I got the same numbers on my 50% less engine capacity bike. :huh
ha! somehow I knew that was going to be the answer.
just tired of questioning my self everytime someone asks what kind of bike. I say 919 and then I get the 'blank stare'
I've actually wondered myself, then I stopped caring. I usually say 9-19, but I wouldn't call it's little sibling the 5-99. Sounds like a discount bike. 5-9-9 just sounds better. I've never heard what the official pronunciation is.
The 919 is an awesome bike.
PS. I pronounce it nine one nine. My Canadian bike says CB900F on the side though. Laaaaaaaaame
I have found that most people who ask, don't know what it is or what you call it.
I always kinda of liked the Green Hornet, then they smiled.
Yeah, no Sh$#! Sherlock! That's why I'm here!
I've been eyeballing the 919 and Bandit 1250 naked for a LONG time, but
somehow ended up on a FZ6 naked. Let's say I traded torque for ABS.
From a trip down the Blue Ridge...
WOW! How did I not see this thread? I bought a '06 and so far I've added 21k to the odometer in a year and a half
and made a few mods too.
What a great bike!
Your mod thread is inspiring/intimidating. :huh
It is Nine-One-Nine. It says so in the sales brochure.
Love your build man!!!
I just rolled over 80,000 km on my 919 and I have no idea when the previous owner checked the valves last. When should I consider having this done?
