First post... Hi guys.
CBR600RR and CB1000R owner here, LA area.
Torrance? I don't think I've seen one of those in the wild yet.
I had that bike for years, but orange. I got it when I was 14, as a leftover, held on to it until a schoolbus pulled out in front of me three days before I turned 21... GOT MY WINGS THAT DAY!! I had no pipes on it when the bus got me, she tried to say she didn't hear me. I spoke to a kid on the bus later and he said they were all saying" You're going to hit him!" Guess what, they were right.
Oh well, I lived, even kept my leg, which took the brunt of the hit, that and my foot, kept that too!
First post, and it is among fellow Cb'ers! Here is what I have:
2001 Honda CBR929RR
Best bike I have ever owned.
1976 Honda CJ360T
Born in the same month and year as me. On it's way to Milwaukee's Rockerbox in the pic.
Now that is one beautiful machine...I always liked the 750 nighthawk.
My baby, pic taken yesterday....We have been together since 2002
my new cbr250r, last one new was a 400/4 in 75?
I ride it twice as hard, half as fast! :)
She likes it!
I just sold my project bike and used the proceeds to pick up a used and aesthetically abused 2008 Honda CBR125!
Its not the best looking bike, but its mechanically and electrically sound. Its had a bit of an identity crisis though - it started life as the red model CBR, but the owner decided he wanted a navy blue bike so her repainted it, and when he sold it the guy i bought it from decided he wanted a white bike, so he repainted it again...with tremclad spray paint... without removing the fairings
I have looked around and can't seem to find a CBR125 thread, search function always seems to only return a blank page for me.. like blank white.. so i looked around but don't know what section it would fall into since its a single, a street bike, and small enough to maybe be a battle scooter lol
Recreateme - Best wat to search is thus:
In Google, type:
yoursearchterms + site:www.advrider.com
As far as I know, the CBR125 has never been sold in the USA, so there is probably not a dedicated thread on ADV.
just got a 2000 CBR600 F4 [replaced my 98 gixxer] Im going thru it ..its a nice, fun bike ,light, nimble ,great gas mileage, reliable, nice comfy seat..... anyways, whats the best way to remove the spark plugs ?? :eek1
Soild bike, I'm curious about the spark plug replacement as well (i assume it would apply to my cbr125, or be similar) - the best i can figure is you would have to remove the fairings if you can't reach it with them on. I have seen a couple youtube videos and its about 4 screws each side.
Also, any of you guys with CBRs carry luggage, or even a bag strapped to the pillion seat? and if so how to you strap it down since these bike seem to have nothing back there but seat haha
The guy i bought my 125 from removed its grab handle and then bondo'd over the screws and repainted it to make it disappear so i'm sure how i would strap something down..
I have a Honda OEM Tail Pack. It's the same bag for the 125/250/500 and CBR650F's, with a different mount/bolt/strap kit depending on the bike. It's 19L in size, has a built in rain cover, is easily removable and can be carried with a shoulder strap. The kit is some bolts and straps, that fasten under the pillion seat. The bag attaches to the straps with buckles.
