Why aren't we getting this bike again? I still want one...
Why is it that Europe gets ALL models and we don't? I don't think all bikes sell in large numbers over there.
All I want for Christmas is this:
I spent a week in the Dolomites with a Crossrunner and my clear impression was why did they even build this thing?. Want to know what the ergos are like? Put a full-on sportbike an paddock stands and hop on. Now that your heels are firmly planted in your ass, add some ape hangers. The low speed handling of this bike is the squirreliest and most unstable Ive experienced in twenty years. And it wasnt just me. This was a rental bike and both side bags were rashed all to hell. If theres some point to this bike it completely escapes me.
sounds like it had been wrecked more than once. Perhaps that would account for the instability? The pegs don't look high to me, but now that you mention it, they do appear to be back pretty far.
According to Cycle Ergo, the CrossRunner does have a more cramped seating arrangement than the VFR, but way more upright. Weird.
I rode one in the Summer of 2011 and I absolutely loved it! The riding position seems a lot like a supermotard to me. I've always loved the VFR and I thought Honda had done an awesome job with the V-tec on the Crossrunner.
I've had a few rides on a Crossrunner, love the bike in every way except for the footpeg position. I dare say an aftermarket set of pegs could be fitted to fix the problem.
I haven't experienced any low speed handling problems when riding a CR, each ride involved some time negotiating urban roads too. I suspect the rental bike may have had a hard life.
Honda will announce new models for the US on February 8th. Will we finally see the Crossrunner? I hope so!

and decided to leave the fastest growing motorcycle segment to BMW, Triumph,
Yamaha, Ducati and Moto Goosey.
Na, they probably decided that the DN-1 was selling so spectacularly well that a slightly polished version was long overdue ...
This model still isn't coming to the US and will never make it here.
Having said that and having test-ridden one in France on a European vacation, I wonder if the new higher clip ons of the 2014 VFR (offered as an option by Honda) would fit the Crossrunner... I thought the original handlebar on the Crossrunner was a little high.
How about making one using a VFR? Now there's an idea...
