The mostly problem are Carb (wont idle, and stuttering) , coil and waterpump.

Carb (keihin vacum) not easy to find right now. Then I tried to change them into 2 carb (lef and right side) , Keihin PE 28 series, 2 custom manifold.

Also Waterpump. Really hard to get, event honda dealer said, that p;art no more avalaible at the market. So I change tih electric waterpum (mercedes or trucktek)

Looks like a decent one, fairly cheap. Central coast Cali, Pismo Beach area .......
    1984 Honda VT 500 Ascot - $1600 (arroyo grande)
VT500FT Ascot, (not the VT500C Shadow) Windshield added. 37k miles.
Good: Fast and strong, will save you tons on gas. Handles great. Shaft drive. New clutch was 400 buckaroos. 35 miles on that clutch. Center stand. Shop manual.
Bad: Oil leak. Could use a carb clean. I put seafoam through it, much improved, but still a slight hesitation and difficult starting when hot. Tach light bulb(s) out, they go in from the back, kind of a pain to get instrument back cover off.

The VT500 was my first street bike and is high on my list of motorcycles that Honda should update and market again.

It has a slightly bigger V engine and shaft drive and still is lighter than the new CB500X 30 years later. I got mine new for $2300. I wish I still had it.

Nope, that's a stock gas tank. Maybe the different color scheme makes it look different.

I believe that guy is a member at the Yahoo VT500FT Enthusiasts group.

Why do this to an Ascot when there are plenty (and more) of Shadows around in the correct configuration to start with?
