Got my oil cooler from Mark and on the bike. As stated in all the above posts it work great and is very well made. I did change the color though. Hope you don't mind Mark lol.

Not as "redneck" as my duct tape guard cover. I like the way you think.:evil

Hey Mark, sorry for not responding much earlier, I did pick up the cooler from custom. Installation was a breeze due to your well detailed instruction that came with the cooler. Since installing the cooler I notice the engine does operate at much cooler temperature (it serves the intended purpose).

THAT is NOT redneck! I couldn't bring myself to take pictures of it, but I had mine wrapped in aluminum foil, secured with electrical tape for the first few commutes this spring. THAT, my friend, is REDNECK:lol3

Haha, pics or it didn't happen :lol3

In the meantime I did spring the money for a manual bypass though, just mounted it last week.
But it's always good to try to Macgyver your way out of a jam first, before reaching for your wallet :D

Thanks for thinking of me. :1drink
I do everything I can to keep kits in stock. The only coolers that I have now are black.
I expect the bare aluminum coolers in a week or two. I wish that I had a more accurate time-line.

    Cheers :freaky

    • I just received the bare aluminum oil coolers today. I now have kits with bare aluminum and black oil cooler cores ready to ship.
Thanks to all that have patiently waiting.

    • The kit for the XR600 will work with the XL600R.

Ride safe and stay "cool". :jkam

    Cheers :freaky

I'm going to get one of these for sure! I used to have an XL600 with a lot of XR600 parts on it. It got stolen. So I'm an RFVC junkie, or a recovering one at least. Now I ride a German Yamaha XT600.

What I'll have to do is order the kit without the plate that has the stator cover mounting holes and make my own. I'll get a spare XT600 stator cover and use a transfer punch onto an appropriately thick sheet of aluminum and shape it from there to mount the cooler where it needs to go on my bike. It won't be as pretty as this ready made one, but then again you don't make one for every bike while everyone who sees this is drooling and wanting one for their make/ model. I'm sure it's close enough that I can adapt it. It's only a matter of stator cover spacing.

Has anyone put the cooler on along with an XRs Only big fin head? Pictures? Or is that overkill?

Yep. Not sure if it's actually an XR's Only kit, but has big fins. I thought I posted a pic in this thread already.

Are these still available ?? The thread has been quiet for a while.

I've sent you an email Mark.

I'm looking to get one for a long trans-siberia trip.

    Cheers, Ted
