Hey all, thought I should put this out there. The HOT lanes are still bike friendly and free for us, but you have to get a peach pass. It's free, they just want your tag number and color of the bike, and it also works to get us free on 400. If you have a peach pass, you just tell the cashier and you go through for free, but it doesn't work like a cruise card. Took about 7 days to get. Just have to keep it visible, like a tank bag window. Do not ride in the HOT lanes till you get one, you will get ticketed. Ask me how I know.....:D

What do you mean "Free on 400"? Don't tell me I've been fumbling around with change and gloves for nothing...:bash

So no one get's a ticket in the mail...

The peachpass does not allow motorcycles to use 400 for free. I have mine set to Toll Exempt for the HOT lanes but it still charges me for using 400.

I'm looking for more info in the FAQ and will post a link when I find it. Found it!

Check out this article and the agreement for using the Peachpass. Look under section 3 of the Peachpass user agreement.

Now, before GA 400 had the antennas in place to read the Peachpasses they were using a picture of my license plate to charge my account for the toll. It worked on my car but it could never get a good pic of my bike tag. My fender is unmodified and my tag is exactly where it should go. So, if you don't have a peachpass and go through the cruise lanes, you might be OK. But if you have a Peachpass, they can read that and will be able to send you a ticket.

hardwaregrrl, how much was the ticket for using the HOT lanes?

Ticket was 50, but I only paid 25 once I was issued the PP. I was technically ticketed for crossing the double white. I was stuck in the lane after returning from out of town, and didn't know they were active.

Been through 400 10 times for free with the PP. I was told by a toll cashier and someone at pp, so there must be a miscommunication somewhere.
