New 2013 350 exc-f let in from the cold
Here's a dumb question, do you guys do anything to the bikes before you bring them in? My bike doesn't leak anything, can. Assume its cool to bring it in my rented place?
For prep, I just bring them inside, put fuel stabilizers in (sometimes), occasionally put them on a battery tender, and wait for spring.
As for rentals, you would have to check with them (or wait for them to find out on their own). If you do not drain the tank, it can be seen as a fire hazard. Most of the people I know who rent just pull them inside and have not run into any issues.
I finished my basement a couple of weeks ago, and wanted to put a couple of my bikes from my past on display. I rode both of these bikes in the 60s
Here's my brothers bike, which he bought when he was 14 yrs old in '67. A Honda S90
Here's a Honda S65 which was purchased new by my best friend, when he as 14yrs old also, in '66
Here's a view of the room they are displayed in. (more memorabilia to come)
I decided to no longer take these bikes to shows, as I have many more for that. I chose to display these simply because of my personal connection with them. Also the S90 is the first bike I taught my wife to ride on in '72. I never could find and bring back any bikes I owned from that era, because I guess I destroyed everything I had then. I located both of these bikes after they had been sitting in barns for nearly 40 yrs.
XRs in Bars
Well, finally did it. Much nicer installing shit in 65 degree heat :)
Not since 2005.
You cannot imagine how jealous I am when I see these photos. I'd love to have my bikes in my front room, but they don't fit into the lift (I live in a 1st-floor flat)
I heard a thump in the sitting room...
This is not my photo, but it cracks me up. It was Photo Of The Day on Bikepics.com on 31/10/13. I like the composition, a bottle of wine for the rider and a jerry can of petrol for the bike. Best mates.
Started this project in 2003 intending it to be a Yoshimura Tornado replica.
This was when it was being assembled:
This is what is left now after parting out most of it near the kitchen, still parting out what is left, pm if parts are wanted. Reasons for not completing the project? 1. Marriage. 2. Time. 3. Recession. 4. Perfectionism, all stainless steel fasteners?
I did manage to finish the bicycle easier than the moto.
