Going to do a quick, couple week ride around eastern Europe and was wondering how friendly things are in Northwestern Turkey, between Bulgaria, the Black Sea and Greece?
Anyone been in that area recently that can pass on advice would be greatly appreciated.

Was there in April, no problems and could not feel problems that were on the other side of the country. I am planning another trip to Turkey in few weeks. When are you going and from where?

Will be leaving from the Black forest hopefully on the 7th of October and riding southeast through Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia and Bulgaria.
Then Turkey, Greece and Albania, ferry to Italy, cross from Brindisi to Sicily, ferry to Sardinia then ferry to Barcelona then South to Valencia to switch bikes and ride back north to catch my flight home from Zurich

Hey, was just asking. I'm a solo rider and the news we get over here goes from one extreme to the next. Figured there were others on here with recent experience, that's why I asked

Thank you. Can you recommend any must ride routes in that area? I was thinking of following the coast down to Karaburun (Was considering Istanbull but I'm not much for cities) and the heading across to Greece.
I've only got a couple weeks to ride

I only got as far as the border and was turned around because of no letter from the rental company saying it was OK to ride into Turkey, no letter, no entry. If using a rental make sure you have a letter along with the usual docs.

Is that near Izmir? You can take a ferry over to Chios from Cesme, here's a company - http://www.erturk.com.tr/en
    And another one - http://www.turyolonline.com/cesme-sakiz-feribot-sefer-saatleri

If you take the 18:30 ferry, you could connect with the...
    23:10 ferry, 3 days a week, from Chios to Athens - https://www.bluestarferries.com/en/...vos.html?destination=&anchor=content-category

Not very cheap, but saves a lot of miles and an overnight stop.

Sorry, can't advise on which roads to take, I've only ever taken the main one down the Turkish Aegean coast.

P.S. I would forget the Spanish section and head to Corsica and France after Sardinia. You're pushing it with only 2 weeks.

Thanks for the info, Ive ridden Sardinia, Corsica and most of the french Alps already. I'm just doing a quick hop across Sardinia to catch the ferry to Barcelona because my Harley is stored in a little town South of Valencia.
Going to drop off the KTM so I have it handy for a Morocco trip and run the Harley back up so I can store it closer to the Alps.
