How can I help ADV efficiency?

I started a thread and have added several posts that say mostly "thanks" although I use those posts to bump the thread. Can I make ADV more efficient by deleting those posts or does ADV keep them with a deleted flag on?

When I have a question I'll often post it in a mega-thread instead of starting a new thread. Does a new thread take more resources than a single post or are they stored the same with different relationship data?

    THanks.

ADV really is efficient -- the webs barely reach where I live but ADV sends a slimmer page than other forums. No bloat.

    Hi,

thanks for asking; our database is handling 620k threads and over 19 million posts now - a few thousand "Thanks" and "bump!" won't make a difference. When composing a post or a thread your first idea should be how it helps the discussion, not necessarily database efficiency.

If anything, nuking posts might upset the database a little, but to be honest I'm glad I don't really know about the inner workings that happen on the server.
