How do I drain the fork oil 89 yz250.

    take the forks off, remove caps, turn upside down

    There is a plug, on the bottom of the leg , I go to www.yamaha-motor.com they have all the scematics :evil, go to the parts catalog they have 98% of their bikes there

    That's not a drain plug it holds the fork together. It's a cartridge fork. You need to purge the cartridge. Disassemble and clean is the best way especially with a fork that old.
