I have an 03 ADV with 24,000. Bought March 2003 with 40 miles.

    Problems:
    Had the recalls done.
My rear wheel didn't have the spacer, wore my brake pads out and added drag. Dealer added spacer under the recall.

Std Adventure crash bar cracked at the mount under the tank, hear it is common. To be replaced under waranty.

Lately it will occasionally stall after slowing to stop at a signal. I need to take care of that soon. I am due for a fuel filter.

Fuel gage acted screwy a few times then worked normally.

Occasionally the horn will honk when I cancel the blinkers.

I've got 54K on a 02. I twisted my driveshaft crush drive and had to replace but that's about it. While in there I changed my clutch. Normal maint., replaced belt, brakes fluids.

For your stalling you want to check the TPS voltage, then balance and idle. I had an intake airleak at the throttle body that made my bike run rough but that was it. Could be O2 sensor flaking also but my bike did that when I had the TPS misadjusted and way below spec on voltage.

2003 Adv. I've had all but one of the recalls done -- some 4th and 5th gear transmission thing that I just found out about. No problems with the bike so far. Yup the spacer was missing on my rear wheel, too. I think these bikes go through the rear brake pads quick -- I'm getting the same wear patterns with or without the spacer. I'm at 30,000 miles.

I have a 2002 GS Adventure; purchased in Europe...105,000 KM on it.
Two years of non-stop traveling on it. I blew out the final drive at 98,000 just after crossing the US border (lucky me! -- I did replaced the bearing at 60,000)
I blew up an Ohlins rear shock in Peru (2 up dirt roads) that my European seller
Kroon Imports honored, even through it was way out of warrenty.
Toasted the clutch in Sumatra in a mud bog...ran it until I could rebuild the in Australia. I have been reading about the final drive failures...and I am watching this much more on my bike now.

Other than that, it has not let me down yet.
I need to do a complete service on it and maybe True the wheels.

I have a '94 1100GS with 50k on it. First gearbox, first clutch, first final drive. Runs better than new actually ever since I put in a tune-up chip. I had the rear swingarm to final drive bearings being replaced last service. It still shifts smooth
(BMW-smooth that is, so it's a little clunky) and still tops out at 125 mph.

The bike let me down once when the hall-sensor gave the ghost at 40k. last year. Set me back about $220,-. I can live with that.

2004 GSA bought in Jan 2004, have 22000 miles with no major problems. Crash bar cracked after a get off in the mud, but dealer replaced no questions asked (Mischler of Beaver Dam WI). Recalls done, bike just gets stronger. Thinking about 650 Dakar for the rough stuff

O4 GS with 29000 miles. I had a hydraulic clutch fail, dealer replaced under warranty. I have had some abs faults that were cleared once but need to be re-evaluated. Overall happy,

    Hello Adv riders, :D

    O2 Adv with 34.000 km.
Had the recall on the rear brake line, fuel clamps, had to have the rear swing arm tube replaced due to marking from the brake hose rubbing almost through the casting. But other than warranty issues NO PROBLEMS.
Hope it stays that way. Warranty is up in August.

    Ride Safe,
    Rick. :thumb

2003 GS Sport, 34,000 miles. Nothing major, just adjust the valves and change fluids. I put a new belt on this last fall. I change tires alot. What's up with that? I'm on my fourth set of tires already. I suppose I should by two sets when I change them again in July.

8 months old and 7000 miles. The only problem has been the lack of riding time..

02 Adventure - bought in 2/04 with less than 11,000 miles. As of today I'm a stone's throw from 30,000 miles. Knock on wood - this bike is a dream - no problems.
