And his rifles worked great to make some boar-paté :dg
I'm 49. Has anyone figured out the average yet?
Well since you asked so nicely
That is with all the ages taken NOW and not when they've gotten the bike.
Didn't take into account the rider who is 79 since he's not riding a 8GS.
Well just to up your average a bit more -- I'm 66 and been riding ever since I was 13 or 14.
im 18 and rideing a shaft driven ntv 650 and planing on makeing some panniers and racks.
next year im hopping to buy a 660 tenere or a 990 adventure and do some nice 2-3 week camping trips around Europe.
going fast does not really bother me can siting at 70 or 120 feels the same so id rather a comfy bike and to go places then go zooming down the motorway and back
I'm not on a F800, but an '92 r100gspd. I'm 25, bought the bike last year.
but i grew up on a 1971 R60/5 that i started on at about 12. I know all about being the "young guy on the bmw" and even more often, the "young guy on the old BMW."
49yo and started riding when I was 12. PS: the F800 is perfect bike for AK!
70 year old, newly retired!!
Just bought a 2012 BMW F650GS (Twin) a few days ago.
Had an R75/5 and an R90S (Europe model) eons ago.
Thought I would venture into the "Dual Sport" arena.
48 and have been riding riding for over 37 years.
Uncanny.... I can say exactly the same..
60, started at the age of 13 with my older brothers driving licence (similar locking).
I'm almost 33 just got a f800gs been riding dirt bikes almost 30 years now , last spring bought a KTM duke 2 for my first street bike liked it but loving my GS
26, been riding a variety of road legal bikes for 7 years.
I have had cruisers, sport bikes, naked standards, supermoto, thumper adv and now a F700GS. The adventure style bikes simply fit my lifestyle the best. I find they are becoming more popular with younger people. I have no evidence to back that up with but it just seems like there are more around.
It's an expensive hobby and I find it a lot easier to find a nice used sport bike for a reasonable price than it is to find any adv style bike in the same shape etc.
I'm 63. Bought a new 2012 F650GS two weeks ago. Yellow and Black. So far, I love the thing. Being too short for the 800, and too old for any serious ADV off road work, it'll go down any gravel road that grabs my attention. Went for a ride with the above poster just yesterday! The world is shrinking!
Been riding since I was 17.
I'm 45, and I've been riding off and on for about 35 years. Whoa, I'm old!
I'm 36 and have been on the F8 for 4yrs.
I have to say I'm a bit surprised by how young some are and how old others are. I didn't expect many under 30 or many over 50... well not on F8s anyway. I wonder what the average age over in the boxer forum is? I definitely felt like a young punk at the MOA rally in Salem!
Average age of a BMW owner is 55 yrs old. I think the F8 will help bring that number down.
The S1000RR is likely bringing it down a lot too.
Yah... 36 is Young, even for a Canadian.
Been on my 650 for about 3 years now and had a XT250 for a couple of years before that.
I really wish I hadn't wasted the last 20+ years of my life not knowing how much I enjoy riding.
I have a 1 Yr old at home now and can't wait to get him his first bike so he can make up for all the years of enjoyment that I missed.
He already knows how to celebrate Shark Week in style:
